Haven't done any logs yet to see how it works with PS2 but quality is good.
It sounds like you already installed - did you get any measurements/photos? I assume it is the same as the MST though since it does seem to be a design copy. The CTS inlet is pretty new. The flange on the CTS does look thicker than the V2 MST though, meaning smaller ID.

Didn't measure, but from what I can see, it's looks completely identical to the MST V2, just rebranded. Though their aluminum fittings do look better quality.

CTS is very similar to MST

I remember the 2 companies getting into a back and forth argument on Instagram about this

Definitely very similar based on pictures, key measurement for performance is the inner diameter of the connection at the turbo side.

I just got my CTS inlet in. The turbo side of it measure 2.21. This is using an old school Vernier caliper.

Yes, you would need to dig back through this thread to find the measurements. I only had OEM and MST v2 in my photo album since those are the ones i owned. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1656337&page=8

I would say the MST is also a better overall design that pure for airflow, and the bench testing from VW (different platform, same idea) essentially proved this point.

Keep in mind I used a very old school Vernier caliper. It requires skill and patience to read properly...Neither of which I have :-) It is at a minimum 2.21. The caliper was a bit loose inside, it's quite possible 2.2225 to be correct here as well. But that small a margin, you aren't losing out on anything.

I installed it today. It was a bit more a pain in the ass than I had anticipated. It's much easier to do some of the work from the bottom.

Yeah some of the clamps, etc, are accessed from the bottom. Did you replace the CCV hose at the same time? That can crack while you are messing around with it, especially if original.

Driving impressions?

When I got this car, I promptly broke the CCV hose when doing the thermostat I think. I didn't want to wait, so I broke the hose off both ends, and used 1 inch Gates green stripe to make the span from intake tube to valve cover. Used normal hose clamps. Came off yesterday without a problem, and installed just as easily. I'll replace it when the heater goes out. To be clear, I am using both ends from the factory part, with just the hose in between replaced.

Driving impressions, honestly I didn't really crank into it yet. The day before I blew the charge pipe (22k on stage 2 93, 21psi spikes! unbelievable!) so I've been going easy on it for now. This weekend I'll get into it a bit more.

I had a garage do it for me, pay for less pain

I could tell I lost a bit of turbo spool noises as going from aluminium inlet to silicon will kill some sound, but overall WGDC is nice, it's sitting around 55-60 on WOT at 16psi.

Pretty sure they're identical if you put them side by side, but for sure the MST and CTS inlets are bigger than pures inlet.

The biggest different should be the transient throttle repsonse - accelrating from stop when you first step on it, on/off throttle, etc. You likely wont gain peak power (but maybe lower WGDC at same power)

Hi chaungo

Please can you let me know which fittings you thought were better quality? Was it the CTS or MST?

I am just about to buy one of these - do you still rate your CTS?

Thanks.

Anybody know if Xdrive F36 would be different? I searched Turner to purchase but it did not list the CTS as available for my model/ Thanks.
