None of these imbeciles know a damn thing about what they’re talking about. Yes, it can be done, no, it will not cost more than buying a 335i, and no it will not drive like a 335i, it will drive better than one. I’ve done it, several times. It is not difficult to do an engine swap either, go get a cherry picker ($200-$300) Buy a wrecked 335i and swap it out. You can do it for under 4k yourself and it is fairly simple. I would recommend manual swapping it if you have an automatic, but, your transmission will fit it.

Could you share more info on this? I want to swap an N55 into a 328i. The mechanical work is not a problem for me but I'm concerned about the wiring and electronics aspect. From what I've read you need the engine (with wiring harness), DME and FEM. What else would it need?
