What you need to generate your own FSC Code yourself is here in thread.

By VIN requires access to BMW Server to pull 1B File, as opposed to locally pulling it from Head Unit. There is nothing to teach.

Only way to get FSC code, without connecting to vehicle, is with BMW ASAP access.

There were a few releases that had issue allowing user to install map, but then later locked utilization until FSC was added. It happened to me once on a '13 F10 and the message looked like yours.

I have bought my first BMW 520d 2010 (manufactured July 2010) few days ago. I want to update my Navigation System to the latest possible maps available.

Can any fellow forum member please advise me on:

1. Where do I download the correct maps from?
2. I read that I will need an FSC code since my car is 3+ years old. There an FSC code generator mentioned at the start of this thread. Will work for my car.
