Mppsk sound with BM3

Does anyone know a setting or way to retain / replicate the MPPSK sound / bangs / burbles with BM3?

I have an MPPSK 340i and just tuned with BM3. I can’t figure out how to replicate or get it right. The gunshot sounds in the high rpm aren’t there anymore.

BM3 is great drivability and powder but I miss the sound tuning of the MPPSK flash!

if you want you could set the aggression from 9-10 for the burbles. 10.6 if you really want to for the extra burbs

Problem is I am on OEM downpipe - and don't want to cause any damage to it (and no I don't want to go catless).

The MPPSK burble tuning is so dynamic - it's more than just setting aggression and duration. It has pops, bangs, gunshots, braps, depending on RPM and throttle / load.

It's just disappointing to not have this anymore. I wish Bootmod3 could duplicate or copy BMW's coding for this and offer it as an option with their tunes.

I was about to BM3 my MPPSK 340 as well, but this is the first I'm hearing of the tune dampening the crackles, gunshots, etc. Is this true?

This! I miss the OEM MPPSK burble settings. They were perfect. Burbles in the lower RPM and gunshots in the high rpms. Bootmod3 unfortunately does not have a way to replicate that.

It was perfect! I debate whether the extra power from stage 1 is worth giving up these settings.

I find it hard to believe that Bootmod3 can not read the stock MPPSK burble settings and copy / paste them into their tune. Or at the least, create something which is similar.

I wonder if enough of us ask if they would do this.

Update for anyone interested - BM3 made me a stage 1 map which has the MPPSK burble tune to flash on my car. Works perfect. Best of both worlds.

It is clearly possible however looks like at this point it would have to be requested as I don't see any way for a user to do this themselves.

I reached out to BM3 (Protuningfreaks) support over the weekend, and they responded with this: "Burbles are adjustable on all maps, including stock maps. You can adjust it to your liking exactly."

Not sure if this needs to be requested, but I'm about to flash the car with BM3, so I'll find out how adjustable this is exactly.

May need to try requesting this as well. The mppsk burbles were better than anything I've found through adjusting the dials :/

Thanks for this suggestion, did the same and now have a Stage 2+ MPPK burbles tune ready to go

Also suggested they maybe consider adding this as an option in the burble drop down as could see it being popular
Hmm just asked and they said they couldn't recreate the mppk burbles for their stage 2 maps.

It is only available via web/laptop as for now I think. I set the burbles to MPPSK in stage 2.0 93+ yesterday.

I'm pretty sure if you set it to OTS, it'll do it on its own, but in my opinion I've got a really nice oem sounding burble. I set it on 0/0 for comfort and aggression sport 2.5 for .8 seconds. I have a catless dp, but this is what I feel is pretty close to oem even with a catted dp

I do see that mppsk option now when using a laptop.

Edit: stg2 with MPPSK burbles is exactly what I was looking for

Just chiming in to confirm that as of 8/2/21, there is an OTS burble tune that matches the MPPSK tune. Personally I'm running 1.6 second duration / 1.2 aggression and I like it even more than the MPPSK. Gives all the same random gun shots and general variety, but isn't nearly as obnoxious when for example you are just getting off the throttle at 1300 rpms driving through a neighborhood or whatever.

I found the higher you push the aggression the more "forced" it sounds without actually adding louder pops or gunshots, by turning it down a bit you'll still get gun shots after a big acceleration but way less noise at lower RPMs

Not sure if this thread is still active, but I have a related question: I currently have MPPSK and I have a VRSF catless downpipe on the way. My plan is to install that and get a BM3 Stage 2 tune.

My question is, if I want to remove BM3, can I revert back to the MPPSK tune or will it go back to complete stock/pre-MPPSK? I've never flash tuned before so I'm not sure how it works.

Also, looks like Stage 2 with MPPSK burbles is available as an option now. Is that considered a separate OTS tune to the regular Stage 2, meaning I would have to buy both separately if I want to try them out?
