gpe-b seems to be this version seen in the included screendump.
But since you have a newer 3 version there's nothing to flash from this old list or a custom software.

yeah - the mmi box has the connection for both rear/front cameras.

And working with gearbox reverse and forward.

In my car with automatic gearbox I first have to drive a small distance in reverse before I get the screen image. Is this normal behaviour?

doesn't sound normal - picture should pop on as soon as you switch into reverse.

my rear camera is powered off the 12v off the mmi - as soon as i switch to R, my image pops right up.

Same here, wire straight to +12V from cam supply of MMI box. Do you have a automatic gearbox?
Without driving and go to the MMI orange menu and select the frontcam there's no delay at all, spot on image.
The delay is when driving first 2 meters in reverse, so I'm very curious if this is a type of gearbox behaviour.

I am answering my own question, but Yes, you can remove all camera cables except USB from the harness. Also the newer model's main quadlock harness has the external AUX wire and mic socket wire attached. If you don't need these to be run to your armrest or to your headliner, you can cut it off to and wrap it with Tesa harness tape or something. You will save room.

Having an issue with my 2013 F10 535i and Road Top MMI NBT unit. Thank you in advance for any help.

I realize this an F30 forum but this seems to be the most active thread on these MMIs. Searched extensively before posting.

MMI unit / CarPlay work and display fine, but display is very distorted when switching back to iDrive.



10.2" display with MMI dip switches 1, 2, & 3 ON. All other dips OFF.

I have tried two Road Top MMI units and same issue with both. iDrive display returns to normal upon reconnecting OEM setup without RT MMI.

In addition to following Road Top installation instructions, have tried:

• HU --> Road Top LVDS --> MMI --> OEM LVDS --> car display
• HU --> RT LVDS #1 --> MMI --> RT LVDS #2 --> car display (I have two RT MMI units and thus two RT LVDS cables)

These only result in black screen or "no signal."

Only potentially relevant post I've found is the following, but I'm reluctant to rewire without confirmation:

Guys I'm banging my head against the wall here... I know this is the f30 forum, but you guys seem to know your stuff here and the thread is very active!
Long story short I fitted one of these boxes in my f10 M5, absolutely love it for waze etc, but there's just no sound coming out of it 80% of the time! I have a Samsung s21, when I flick the phone screen down to see if I'm connected to WiFi and Bluetooth, is says "connected for calls" not calls and audio... what am I doing wrong!?
Initially it started crackling a bit, then the sound would fade out.. I'm sure it's something but I just can't work it out! TIA peops

The distorting image looks like a bad signal. Maybe the cable or connector is cracked. Try to move the cable piece by piece and watch the screen. Soldering of connector pins on PCB can also be bad when force is attached to the videoconnectors of the MMI box. Is the left hand red connector on the picture in good shape? The isolation looks damaged

Or check Bluetooth> Android Auto on the phone. You need a valid Bluetooth and Wifi connection for wireless Android Auto or wireless Apple Carplay. It works on my old Oneplus 6 phone, so your flagship has some trouble.

if you havent already tried it, i would unpair the phone from boththe cart and the mmi, delete on the car connection list and pair to the box first and see if that works
