I installed the java8, but when i start the App this what happen..

How to solve the problem?

Right click on agent and choose Open With > Jar Launcher

You need the standalone agent and an iPad with cellular that you can share the WiFi connection on: https://www.protuningfreaks.com/coll...a-all-f-series

that happend with mine too, i just had to get the latest java software and it worked. and yea with the obd agent box you can. i actually just flashed with my phone like 2 hours ago haha

I was thinking if we can make do with iPad using cable adapter, as iMac on IOS is already working.

I'm not entirely certain what this means, but I'm guessing if you're asking about adapting the iPad to connect directly to OBD2? While it would be physically possible using the Apple Camera Connection Kit and the USB to Ethernet Adapter, the problem is the agent software needs to be somewhere.

Since it's a java application, it needs to be run on your computer or the raspberry pi they sell as a standalone option. I actually submitted all of this as a feature request months ago, but I think there is a technical issue getting the agent software to run on iOS.

You're understanding correct my point.

If agent software already works on iMac IOS system, there is no reason it can't on iPad...as it looks to me...

Talk to PTF about it. Suggest a feature request as I did back on 10/May/17:

Would it be possible to have the agent software running within the iOS app itself? The reason I ask is that if the agent were in the iOS app, you could use the Apple Camera Connection Kit and USB to Ethernet adapter with a powered USB hub (from car 12v) and connect the Enet cable from the car directly to the iOS device without the need for the Raspberry Pi. This could offer another alternative for your customers, while possibly helping to resolve agent connection issues that seem to pop up at times.

thanks for this suggestion. Will look into it and asses as a possible alternative if it ends up being workable for what bm3 requires connectivity wise as well as supported across devices. Part of me doesn't like these solutions on iOS as Apple's been notorious in dropping support for anything that is being used on their devices but not their own making if you know what I mean. I've seen it happen a number of times already and in some cases required a full redesign of the app.

The iOS app is really just a web browser that points you to the login page and nowhere else. You can get the same behavior and features just using Chrome on iOS instead of the BM3 app and going to http://services.bootmod3.net (on another note, it REALLY bugs me that it's not HTTPS, but since the password I use for BM3 is only used on BM3, the risk is limited to what can be done once logged into the BM3 account).

in order to connect your ipad to the car you would need the OBD agent and a hotspot, so if you have both you should be good haha
