Brand New BMW 335d X-Drive M Sport has arrived at last!

Hi all,

My first post on here - been lurking for a while as I looked to make my car decision and spec up the options. I have to say this is one of the most useful forums I've been on - real enthusiasts with a shared passion and lots of knowledge!

You'll also be pleased to hear that this is my first Beemer - moving over from an Audi S5 2007. And you'll be even more pleased to hear that I don't regret it one bit!

Car spec:

335d X-Drive M-Sport
Mineral Grey
Black Dakota Leather
M Sport Plus Package
M Sport braking system
19 M-Stars
Sun protection glass
Headlight Wash
Xenons
HK Sound System
Nav Pro
Media pack pro
Heated front seats

So two days out on the road now and I'm in love. So smooth to drive in comfort mode, turning into an absolute rocket with the power down. It obviously doesn't have the growl that my V8 had, but the surge of power past other cars feels more effortless, with very little lag. Steering is excellent and responsive, and feels much snappier than the Audi.

The HK sound system was an excellent bet. Now i've had a play with the settings it's very sharp, and easily beats the B&O I had in the S5.

Some pics attached as I've observed the rules (including a couple of the outgoing for old times sake!)

For those waiting for their car - you will not be disappointed!

Lovely. The first time I've seen MG in good light.

Surprised you didn't opt for Coral Red interior on the F30 though?

I did think about it, but I've been staring at the red for three years now so thought I'd go for a change of scenery. Looks fantastic in those that have gone that way though.

Nice car! and good to see yet another come to BMW from Audi!

A question for you... would you have got a BMW without xdrive being available?

Very nice, glad you are enjoying it.

May I ask which EQ settings bring out the best in the HK for you? Subjective I know.

Hi - good question. Initially I suppose xdrive was a draw, as I have enjoyed the Quattro system. I love the stability and straight line power, although I'd probably be happy with an s drive in the future

Thanks! I've gone with treble and bass up 3 clicks, 100hz, 200hz, 5000hz and 10000hz down two clicks, and no L7. That reduces the harshness and give a good amount of bass without making me sound like Ali G....

Meant to ask this.

I was in my mates A5 Quattro and it has the Bose logo on the speaker system.

Does the BMW's spec'd with H/K display the fact it has the sound system installed anywhere?

Yes it says Harmon Kardon (albeit quite subtly) on each speaker. I checked that to be certain!

I am glad its subtle but very happy its there! .. I spec'd it too, was never happy with the sound in the 1 Series Standard Stereo it was a step down from the Audio System in the Golf I came out of previous to that.... Im hoping the Harmon Kardon one will blow them both away!

Love the car and love the colour - there almost seems to be a purple tint to it in one of the shots.
I see you are a fellow convert from Audi Quattro to BMW - love your S5 too.

Seems to be every time I refresh this forum somebody else has received their new car. How am I supposed to hold out till April?? The excitement is killing me already and I only ordered 2 days ago!!

Enjoy the new motor.

Stunning car Dean. I wrestled over whether to go for grey or blue. I went for blue but grey is definitely a sleeper.
Looks brilliant. Enjoy it.

Pretty much the same spec as mine which is on order. How do you find the interior with the black leather and darkened windows? I'm a bit concerned it may be a bit dark and gloomy.
