BMW F31 M Sport springs compatibility with stock shock absorbers.
Hello everyone! I have a question. I have a 2013 BMW F31 (business model), so a standard version. I wanted to lower the car and fit ONLY the M Sport springs instead of the stock ones without changing the stock shock absorbers. Do you think it is possible? Someone did it?
Thanks. |

It'll work as far as fitment and general behavior, but the ride/handling balance might not be optimal. My situation is slightly different, but I think it results in the same configuration. I have an M Sport 440i Gran Coupe and had my front struts replaced. the shop put the standard struts by mistake. No fitment problems, just an expected extra "floatiness" and smoothness. Went back to the M Sport struts (no charge) and original tightness was restored. Can't help you with the rear shock issue, except to say that the Gran Coupe doesn't change the rear springs for the M Sport, so it would be a no-brainer if the same is true for F31.
