TU vs Dorch Stage 1 vs. Dorch Stage 2

I have ran all pumps from stock (obviously ), TU, Dorch Stage 1, and Dorch Stage 2. I took the opportunity while I had all the pumps in front of me, to make a quick comparison video. Hope this helps.

Well done Kern! I have the stage 1 HPFP, and I definitely am glad I chose it over the TU. For E85 lovers, I've never had any issues running E30-40 mixes. Never tried the straight E85 as I prefer WMI with my 93 OTS tune, but I bet the stage 2 would kill it.

Great video!
I will be soon be upgrading the pump. I have really bad fuel where I live so I can't even run MHD Stage 2 98 map on 98 fuel E15. My stock HPFP starts dipping below 2200 psi at E20. Not sure if it's something else causing these issues. My logs looks fine with MHD Stage 2 95 with 98 fuel E15.

I'm thinking either the TU pump or Dorch stage 1. Any pros and cons between them. Reliabilty etc?
Or should I just go with Stage 2? I will probably run E30-E40.

IMO get the TU pump if you're not willing to spend extra for the DS2. I think the DS1 is just an inefficient cost / performance upgrade.

Seems like TU HPFP best price and option, unless you're planning on running high % of Ethanol.

The TU pump holds solid rail pressure for me at up to about E45-47. At E50, rail pressure drops to the 2100-2400 area, so its on the raged edge if your rail pressure matters to you.

x2. The choice for me is either TU or DS2. DS1 is only for those that are concerned with the TU pump not having the same fuel pressure safety as OEM, but I have yet to see anyone have an issue.

It is all about the tune. I have posted everything related to my E85 tuning to prove you can run any amount of ethanol you want, and since then both PTF and MHD have full flex fuel maps that allow E0 to E85 on any HPFP.

Will defintely buy the DS2 in the spring. I guess there are no disadvantages running only MHD Stage 2 HPFP with the DS2?

This is a long shot, but do you have idea if you can code in a oil temp gauge on a pre-lci m140/m240?

Nope, you'll just have more headroom/safety.

Regarding the oil temp, I have seen it on a hidden menu, but you have to turn it on every time you start the car. Or you can buy a gauge like P3 Gauges or Awron to have it always visible.

I went Dorch Stage 2 with the BM3 Stage 2+ E50 map. I ran a 10.9 a few times with this combo and just boltons which is pretty impressive to me.

That is pretty impressive. The Dorche S2 is such a great HPFP option

Thanks, I have looked at the P3 Gauges and the do look nice. For now I will stick with the MHD Universal adapter as you can leave it in the OBD port and just check my phone.

The reason I want a new HPFP is because I can't run MHD Stage 2 98 with 98 fuel. I need more then E20 because of timing corrections. But my HPFP starts dipping below 2200PSI at >E16-17.

Is it possible that there is another issue causing the timing corrections, bad plugs etc?
