@mike@x-ph.com, what do you think is it safe to use such setup 5-10 times a year pushing it hard on track days?
That is around 300hp for 228i, it seams safe too me, but i'm not sure. |

It's my friends car. Nothing yet, but he was thinking about classic first stage remap, but than came idea about downpipe, exhaust, intake and tune for all that. Can he go a little bit more conservative with power with all that mods and remap it to around 300hp, because even with stage 1 remap with stock engine tuner says that gain is about 290hp?
It should be ok for daily driving, but I don't know about often spirited driving in public, mountain twisties and couple of hard track days a year (let say <10). Car has 35k miles on it. Thanks in advance, sorry for bad English But after reading this and couple similiar threads, I'm not sure if tuned n20/26 are strong enough for track abuse :S http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1254131 Last edited by ///CSL; 04-25-2017 at 07:33 AM.. |

I have seen some N20/N26 fail, most common issue is users running maps that are too aggressive for their mods. As lonk as he sticks with the recommended maps, he should be fine
