Hi everyone,

i am searching for a MCU Update for my device. Now i have the version 615085dFY-N5.0-G-D-C-200428

I bougt the screen from "FedJu" Shop, but they don´t give me an update. "dFY" should be DMP Cardesign and Wincago?
I contact DMP Cardesign, but they cannot give me an update too, because i diddnt buy the screen by there. Have anyone the same screen and a update?

I have a problem with that after a while there is a loud scratching and then the sound fails. Furthermore, the control panel always pops up even though no temperature etc. are adjusted. Got the screen in a Mercedes C-Class.

Mercedes MCU`s can be found at the Discord channel , not here at BMW forums, maybe someone there has an MCU if it is not at the download folder.

I don't recommend to buy a camera with handle. Usually aftermarket handles are of low quality. Better use oem handle and install universal camera into the oem dummy.
This camera has 170 degrees view, this is not always good, but you can see almost round the corner)

This took a really long while but I finally got to try out that AHD you linked and I'm absolutely blown by the clarity! Especially at night!


It would appear as if there would be light but the only light source is my own car. The only complaint I have with it is that it gets blinded by my license plate light, resulting in that white smear on the left. But I only see this at pitch black. Still I believe the trade-off is totally worth it coming from the standard CVBS.

Can it be possible to lock access to the system and keep BMW idrive visible only?

I am concerned when checking car into a garage and people might start messing with android and my personal information.

I tried user management and set new user but a. on boot it defaults to the main user )owner) and b. you can't set password anyway

Sent to me by AVIN to try to fix an ongoing issue with my new unit. While it did not resolve it, I doubt the issue is with this firmware (the issue persisted with every firmware I tried).

They also sent me their untranslated factory_config that they wanted me to install along with 2.3.5. I took a look at it and only found one new item at the end: "speed_play_switch". I don't use the SpeedPlay app that I'm guessing that's for.

Silly question, maybe.. I want to use ONLY the OEM system, but with the 10.25" screen.. I already have it installed but it's giving me many issues..

What if I unplug the cable mark in red? Will the monitor work as the original one, but 10.25?

(Of course I do not expect that the resolution will be ok without coding it, but that's another topic)

I don't believe that'll work. What you could do is change the default so that the car loads the OEM side when the car starts. You'd have to force it to go into the Android side of things.

Yes I know that I could do like that.. But my idea was to install an MMI for CarPlay (the only thing I use, and I've got a friend with the same OEM system I have and the MMI works great) with the bigger screen..

This white connector (among many other things) provides power to the unit. Without that you will end up with pretty shitty black mirror if you ask me

This time i got again two updates within a couple of hours, 2.3.5 and 2.3.6
Basicly they only forgot kswpmedia to update on 2.3.5 so with 2.3.6 they also updated that file, therfore i only compare it with this.


I checked the update in comparison to 2.3.0 , this version 2.3.6 is from 28th October 2020.

There are some changes but i am still unsure if its worth to update:

• Update: Carplay Zlink, update from V3.6.10 to V 4.0.3
• Update: Speedplay (also carplay app) from 1.3.29 to 1.5.2
• Update: Alfa_Romeo GUI has been updated but seems to have a bug, only black screen displayed at 1280p display.
• Update: KswBT Bluetooth app lots of updates regarding Speedplay, but also two new feature strings "bt_delete" and "bt_dial"
• Update: Txznet smartadapter (speedplay?) Android Framework access (gps permissions granted)
• Feature: new code for display resolution recognizing, probably gui will be scaled in the future with only on imagepack anymore.
• Update: Audio Drivers, as always changes/fixes unknown
• Autostart of USB Devices like DAB-Z does not work anymore since OTA Update 2.3.5

As the factory config update is also not targeting our systems i do no new factory_config.xml file for this, so the 2.1.0 Config file can still be used.

Jep i also saw the SpeedPlay switch, but as this seems to require a internal hardware modul (found I2C code) i decided to not relase a new factory_config file only because of that.
The File updating is still a hurdle for some people so i don`t want to update it too often,

What did it fix exactly ?
The update has lots of not related to our headunits changes , so its difficult to find real bux-fixes.

I don't want to clutter this page too much by pasting my long posts so that ppl don't miss your update, but if you want to take a look I tried to get help in the theming thread. RedErik tried to help, but unfortunately, this was something beyond anyone's ability to fix remotely. It seemed to be a bootanimation or splash corruption issue, but who knows what it actually was.

Original statement (see edit): All I know is yesterday I updated to 2.3.5 and the corruption happened immediately upon reboot as usual, and today I updated to 2.3.6, and until now several hours later, no corrupt reboot

As RedErik mentioned, it does seem though that my specific model seems to have a hardcoded bootanimation of some sort (the circle of bubbles)

EDIT: I should have known from years of IT that these things have a way of deceiving you. So the issue has definitely improved (corruption doesn't go past splash image) but neither of the new updates have completely resolved the corruption issue. Back to square one

Sorry to hear that Like I said before, I betting on a cold solder joint. This issue seams to be pretty unique as I didn't see anyone else reporting that. We all use the same software so natural conclusion would be hardware issue. I would try to get a replacement unit from AVIN under warranty.

Night sensitivity of this camera is amazing, I recommend to make your lic plate lights tinted or as a temporary solution to steak black tape on the half of the light. I'm going to swap my LED light for the older ordinary ones (original for E70), hope this helps.
