Should I have the dealer install MPE ?

I just ordered a M Perf Exhaust for my 435i. Do you guys think I should have the dealer install it? If so am I going to get ripped?

I know it's basically just a muffler and exhaust tips but in the unlikely event anything goes wrong I don't want my dealer, or an exhaust shop playing the blame game on each other.

Only reason would be that if the dealer does it, it keeps the original warranty fully intact.

I made friends with my SA and neg. a price before having anything done, has served me well so far.

Not speaking from direct experience, but just get a quote from the dealer and a *performance* shop (somewhere 80+/hr), both have reputations to uphold and some kind of warranty on labor. Decide based on quoted price. It's an OEM part so not much can go wrong, plus it's just exhaust, so shouldn't create any problems upstream. Negative on the random exhaust shop, I'd rather DIY.

Sorry I don't have an answer but

With the quality videos the OP made before, I'm excited to see vids of his car with the MPE (hopefully)

Great answer.

I opted to go to a reputable shop instead of having the dealer install due to price.

I am pretty tight with one of the SA, and the dealer said they would do it for $150 - I am probably just going to go that route.

That's a perfectly fine price, go with it
