bootmod3: CustomROM release - Map Switching, Flex Fuel, AntiLag, New Map Editor...

bootmod3 CustomROM now available for N55-EWG engine vehicles!

All the features and customization previously released for the S55 including MapSwitching, Flex Fuel, Antilag, Live Adjust burble and ethanol override, In-dash ethanol check and others are now available for the N55-EWG cars. This work starting with the S55 has been under way since last year and we are really excited to have it finally released on the N55-EWG as well

bootmod3’s integrated Map Editor features 4300+ calibration tables available on the N55-EWG CustomROM for custom tuners on the platform to take advantage of. Advanced logging (RAM) channels support has also been expanded to include many new loggable parameters, many of which are exclusive to bootmod3 software customization.

New Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 2+ OTS maps are now also available featuring 4 integrated map slots, flex fuel, antilag and all the CustomROM features. Stage 2+ Multimap OTS map, with the presence of a Flex Fuel Sensor, scales all the way up to full E85 content fuels for those with upgraded HPFPs installed that can flow the required fuel volumes.

for the stage 2 multimap, could you substitute in the race gas map for either the acn91 or 91 map? thanks.

I may be misunderstanding how this works, but for now we're stuck with the multi-maps that only include different octane levels of each stage?

I was hoping we'd be able to have something like:
map 1: stock
map 2: stage 1 91
map 3: stage 2 93
map 4: stage 2 93 aggressive burbles

As an example.

That's how I interpreted it. You just pick the octane based on your pump gas "base" that you are mixing with E85, assuming you have a flex fuel sensor. The sensor will be used to scale fuel, timing, etc, based on ethanol content.

The stage multimap you pick will be based on your hardware and essentially determine boost level.

Well, it's a start I guess.

The real question is if this will ever be available for PWG N55's.

Really cool features!

Doesn't frequent map switching mess up with adaptation values?

you still need a lpfp to run full e85 unless you run low boost

You cant run full E85 or even close really with a stage 1 HPFP and stock LPFP. Maybe E50.

I tried the anti-lag tonight. It's very anti-climactic. It's not the extreme flame shooting pop pop bang bang you see in movies, and online in videos. It's more the car kinda just bogs down, while still slowly accelerating, and you release the button and it goes. It's kind of...boring. It's so underwhelming in fact, that I had to try it about 15 times before I realized it was even doing anything. This is on a stage 2 93 FBO N55, with a CONVERTED map. I didn't try a map switching map...because well PTF dropped the ball on that feature. Can't customize which maps you switch between! Good grief! I have 100 octane at the pump in my town. I just wanted to be able to switch between stock, 93, and race gas.

Yeah the anti lag isn't going to be that useful on stock turbo cars. I tried it as well, and had pretty much the same experience. It works, but it's nothing crazy. Would be useful though if you're into roll racing though.

Wonder how many stock turbos are about to die from this update lol. Interested to see big boost guys or even ps2 users try it out though

While I truly appreciate the new features and updates, I feel they could have spent all this time and effort bringing new and useful features and map updates to the platform. MHD seems to be the front runner in this regard in my opinion.

For sure, and considering 2 of the top N55 tuners told me to ditch bm3 for MHD, you'd think it would be priority. I'm going to email them again and see if any of these updates make them want to tune BM3 again.

Edit: just emailed RK Tunes and Shoupe to see what they say.

edit:bm3 tech support claims that a custom tuner can change the 4 integrated maps

Edit again...rkntunes got back to me. "Hi Machoneperformance,

We still do not tune using BM3 and we have no plans of ever using it.

Edit again : DAVID SHOUP APPROVES! "BM3 has definitely improved. Im still add odds with the tuning interface. BM3 cars take me a bit longer to setup traditionally but I believe theyve released a new import tool which should help. I havent taken on any new clients this week to clean up my backlog. After I work through the cars i have this week, i'll likely be more open to working with you on BM3 if that sounds ok for you. "

If you see some OTS map update worth more than all this shit they released then you are straight up clueless what all was done here for the N55 dude. OTS maps on their own are thing of history and have been maxed out for any flasher for a long while. Anyone releasing just some new OTS map at this point is just doing the same shit that was done way back 100 times over so please

So you just got "map updates" from my comment and totally disregarded word for word what I said? I believe most people will not use any of these features that were just released but that's just me.
