Lowering F30 (pics with info data)
So I need to get the wheel gap taken care of.
I'm not new to lowering a car. Done it to all my e38s. Iirc my e38 the front was 1.9 and 1.6 rear. I saw two different springs so far. Forget the drops tho. Can y'all post pics of your lowered but not slammed F30 with the model of springs and drop amount so I can get an idea of what I'll be looking at. Its a daily driver I don't need to be scraping oil pans and dodging speed bumps. |

The most common three options I've seen for springs on this forum for the F3x cars are as follows:
H&R - 20-25mm (0.8"-1") or 35-40mm (1.4"-1.6") Eibach Pro Kit - 25-30mm (1"-1.1") Eibach Sportline - 35-40mm (1.4"-1.6") AC Schnitzer - 20-25mm (0.8"-1") It's recommended that if you go for 30mm+ drop (greater than 1") than you should change the stock dampers as well. I'm getting my Eibach's fitted tomorrow, so I've not got a post fitted picture.

AC Schnitzer spring kit with Bilstein B8.
Id be careful about swapping springs alone... thats what a lot of people try (myself included) only to find out the ride becomes very bouncy as the stock dampers wear out. The process will happen quickly as stock dampers are not that high of quality to begin with and certainly not designed for lowering springs. A side by side comparison of the Bilstein and OEM dampers was embarrassing (compression/rebound/etc). |

The first one was after and the 2nd one was the before. I used H&R sport. I didn't use supper sport cause I drive it daily and I didn't want to have to worry about scraping on everything. The wheel gap is gone and not that big of a hassle to drive.

Sometimes i swear i catch air on my H&R sports and stock dampers. 85% of the time its ok and 15% of the time it is horrible. That translates to 85% of the roads I drive on are low speed and/or pretty smooth.

That's exactly what I'm looking for is to close off some of the wheel gap. Im still running the stock 17s for now until the tires are low. |

I didn't change the dampers, however I did change the bump stops for the BM shortened ones. Rides "alright" for a lowered car on springs, little bouncy on some particularly crappy roads (poorly laid - you know what its like here). I avoid pot holes, but if you catch small ones (shallow) it rides them the same as it would standard. Yes, it scuffs the road in some places but it only scuffs the underneath of the front splitter nowhere else. |

I wish I went with Super Sports, they're a more even drop and lower. I have AC Schnitzer and sometimes I wonder if I even lowered it
