Has anyone has their steering rack replaced under warranty with aftermarket coilovers
My F30 has had a steering rack clunk since at least 50k miles when it has the standard suspension. It was very intermittent for a long time. Now, at 66k miles, it's finally happening often enough to duplicate while it is in for service.
I have a carmax warranty. If BMW blames the bad steering rack on my aftermarket ST X coilovers, then they can essentially advise carmax to not cover this repair. Has anyone had the steering rack replaced under warranty with aftermarket coilovers? Or, has anyone been denied due to coilovers?

It's a "simple enough" job to do yourself at home specially if your coilovers have their own top hats so you don't need to remove and reinstall the springs and the struts come right out. Even if you have to pay a garage to do it, it's still certainly gonna be MUCH cheaper than having to pay for a new steering rack + work... |

Check the bottom page of this link.
