Top Speed of a '15 328 I X-Drive, Asking for a friend...
Just curious, what is the top speed of a 328I with M-Sport package. Is it governed? I work in a very rural area and one of the county roads I take has a couple mile long straight. From the stop at one end, I can get to 120 before the midpoint and decelerate. It shifts @ 6,000. Seems like there's a lot left at that point too. Kinda fun to get it up to 100 or so on a regular basis.

If your car came from the factory with all season tires, it'll be limited to 130. If it came from the factory with summer tires, it'll be limited to 155. Based on the picture in your signature, I'd assume your car came with all seasons so it's limited to 130

My previous car, '14 328ix maxed out at 130-132. That's the fastest I've ever driven My present car, 16 435ix M Sport is supposed to touch 160-165, it has the limiter removed, however it hasn't gone beyond 110, yet

I hit 145 mph in Mexico....that was scary with crappy road.... I never done it again. Nowadays only pass 100 mph on track days only.
FYI that's was long time ago 10 yrs maybe... not on a BMW. |

Thanks for the replies. Yes, all season Continentals. Seems very stable at 120. Haven't done a track day yet. Might be fun. I've been on Road America for fast touring. As fast as my TR6 would go anyway.
Bloke, may have to get to Elkhart for a track day, perhaps with a Bimmer club? Perry

While not the same car, my 15’ 428i did hit 130 mph in Mexico last month. It could have gone more, however, traffic was upon me so I had to ease it down a little. I had to rush from Mexico to Miami, FL to get to my son who I thought broke his hand in school. Being a nervous wreck, I let my emotions take over my driving.
Never again. |

My first BMW, which was a '14 320i, I topped out at 132 on the highway. Nowadays, I'm driving a '16 428i with the M Sport Package. I'm pretty sure it has the limiter removed, but I haven't topped it out yet. I've only had the car for a couple of weeks, and my commute to work is literally one mile down the road from my apartment. Haven't taken it out on a back road yet

Not if it came from the factory with a square, all season setup. It would have to come from the factory with staggered, performance tires.
