Around 7500 miles. Although these days I usually change it at around 6-9 months since I don't drive as much as I used to.

I've relied on BMWs condition based servicing intervals for years now
BMW oil is fully synthetic long life, designed to manage short and long intervals, dependent on driving style, journeys types etc etc

I drive 70% city and 30% hwy all in sport mode. iDrive usually tells me to change oil around 6700 - 7000 miles. So, that would be 7k miles per iDrive.

With an electronic dipstick, it's slightly more of a pita to check your oil, so I let it tell me. I've only run low on oil after a very intense track day.

My car always had a 17k OCI, which I followed when maintenance was covered by BMW. Now I do 8k between changes. After last month's change, the OCI magically came down to 13k. I might actually wait the 13k this time and not do an intermediate change.

My original service interval was 15,000 miles, which I also followed. They later adjusted it down to 13,000 and then 10,000 as far as I can remember

I highly recommend taking the old oil out and new oil in. Plus a filter change....

Kidding, I wait for iDrive to tell me too.

Post 2014 OCI was changed to 1 yr/10k miles. That to me is a good OCI.

Mine is pre-2014, and OCI is 2 yrs/15k miles. My routine is to halve that, so around 1yr/6-7k miles.

The thing is this oil change was done at my indy. No one adjusted anything. It came down on its own.

OCI is based on number of gallons consumed plus conditions of oil.

My 2013 OCI is 2 years/15000 miles, for roughly 500 gallons@30mpg.

So 17000 miles of OCI is around 34 mpg. If your mpg drops to 26(e.g. different DD), then 13000 miles of OCI makes sense.
