440i GC - Sound in cabin

Hi all - am 4 days into owning my 440i GC (that you lot all made me get !!! LOL) and am absolutely loving it !!!

I was expecting the engine sound to be louder in the cabin - is it just me or is it exceptionally quiet ??

Very quiet and refined in Comfort, obviously louder in Sport
If you want noise, you'll be needing the MPPSK - transforms the sound

I agree it is quiet. Even so with MPPSK, but obviously louder than stock.
I recently filmed my exhaust from a camera mounted on the rear bumper. It showed just how much sound you are missing in the cabin.

It does get very droney if you have the parcel shelf out and rear seats folded down though.

Try opening the windows... Enjoy the summer!

I'm 16k in on my stock exhaust 340i Touring and it's notably louder than when new. As the engine runs in and the exhaust burns in it seems to get both louder and deeper in both modes.

Comfort is nice and discrete, but still makes a noise if you push on. Sport sounds much more aggressive now, upshifts under load sound great with the windows down.

How are you liking the GC, I came from a F30 to my current F36 and I'm very happy with it, such a good car and really practical, exactly what I wanted.

Garage List
I've found if I press the loud pedal a little harder I can hear much more in the cabin even in comfort.

I found my 340i very quiet inside especially with the windows closed. Mppsk solves all of these issues.

Not only does MPPSK provide much needed noise it also disables the terrible Active Sound fake noise.

A double win...

If i open the window anything over 50mph all i hear is wind noise. F31s are horrendous for wind noise.

No fake sound here. Either I have the only LCI that doesn't have it or Moff is mistaken.

If it's there on my F31, it's very subtle.

Put a window down or drop the back seats and you can certainly hear the real noise over any fakery.

Also, with 40i's getting louder with time, I doubt the fake noise is very significant, if present at all.

When I was running mine in I didn't use sport or gearbox sport very often for obvious reasons.

Once I had put a few miles on it and had gone over the running in mileage, I remember the first time putting it in sports on both mode and gearbox, windows down, wow did the exhaust come alive!

As had been said, it has got noticeably more 'burbly' as it's further run in, and I've not noticed interference from a sound aktuator. Sales guy actually said it had been scaled back on the newer cars from the previous gen?
