Extended Test drives?

How do you go about getting one of these? I imagine they are quite problematic for a dealer, as letting you do say 50 to 100 miles in a car over a couple over 24 to 48 hours to really get a feel for it is going to significantly hit the resale value of that car to the dealer...

Trying to decide between a 4 and a 6 for my next car as priced very similarly at the moment, but really feel like I need to know whether I can "live" with the 6 day to day, but are the dealers likely to play ball?

One way of finding out, ring ring, hello, is that Mr Dealer, can I...............?

I had one of the 1st in country M135i's on a 24 hour demo (bought one after), a M3 on 24 hours, didn't buy that, a X1 on 48 hours & did buy that so a good dealer should accommodate you. If not, change dealer, I did to Bedford as the MK one thought 15 min accompanied was plenty?

There is a form currently on the bmw website for 24h test drives.

You click what you want, submit your details and then the following happens :

Your local big franchise I've had nothing but shit service from over the years calls saying you need to come in and be interviewed to check you're serious, or else the smaller outfit twice as far away calls back saying they've got exactly what you want and when can you pick it up.

Well that's what happened to me last week.

They are usually pretty accommodating if the cars are available.
I had a 440i GC for a day as it was the finance guys take home car so couldn't take it overnight. 8am - 4:30pm in the end. Plenty of time to really explore the car and added ~100 miles.
Net result for the dealer, I ordered a car the very next day.
