Stock 335i Xdrive Mustang Dyno

In case anyone was wondering. This is what a stock f30 put down.
Specs:
2014
F30 335i XDrive
32,000 miles
Mods:Mperformance exhaust
Fuel: BP gas-93oct
Horse Power: 248
Torque: 250

Outside weather: 87 Degrees Fahrenheit

I was told by the Tech that mustang dynos read low and realistically I'm around the 275whp mark. He said I am definitely over 300 crank horse power.

Thanks for the Post!

But as I said before... doesn't matter what the Dyno's say... your trap speed is your best marker for determining horsepower... doing some quick calculations... yea 275+ sounds more reasonable... best thing is to goto the track on a low humid 70-80 degree day and see what it runs...

I know each Dyno is different. This was just a base line for me before I go FBO. Just figured I'd share my results. I don't see too many stock Dyno runs. Thank you for the confirmation on the calculations too!

Thanks for this post. Dyno results are always interesting. I think xdrive tends to give slightly lower whp readings due to power loss on the way to rear and front axles vs just rear. On the flip side, more of the power that reaches the wheels is effectively transferred to the ground due to better traction, so it basically evens out.

Disclaimer: I'm in no way suggesting that xdrive or rwd is better, only trying to explain the dyno results. The best drive train is the one that you need or enjoy most. I'm clarifying because discussions about drive trains can occasionally devolve into a shit storm - sort of like discussions about manual and auto transmission, or m-cars vs non-m.

Is Apex also doing your tune?

I don't think I will have them do the tune. I've seen many success stories with BM3 OTS and even better ones with a custom tune by a recommended BM3 tuner. I'm leaning towards the BM3 custom tuning route but I still have a while to decide. I saw they have done one other 335i and their gains were +75whp and +150tq from stock. I need to do more research and grasp a better understanding of the tuning process before I bite the bullet.

I agree with you. If I had to do it again, I would get RWD and good winter tires and swap seasonally. The Xdrive is good but it's not great in my opinion. Suspension on Xdrive tends to be bleh for a bmw and changing suspension components greatly increases the chance of failure with the Xdrive. There's also more to break with Xdrive. It's good in the snow but for the 4 times a year I drove in the snow, it's not a necessity for myself.

My reason for asking is Mustang Dynos are easy to manipulate and a tuner could downplay the base dyno so the tune looks better.

Thanks for posting your baseline dyno - It's rare to see a Mustang Dyno for a 2014+ F3x N55 xDrive so much appreciated . Really looking forward to see how much you gain with your mods as that's what really counts. They call it the Heartbreak Dyno for a reason when comparing others out there...

Just purely for comparison sake, I'd like to share the last Mustang Dyno I ran about a year ago on my 2014 F32 435i xDrive. My results were quite a bit higher even with conservative mods so guessing there were some calibration or setting differences between the two dyno setups. It also seems odd that your HP holds all the way to 7k RPM as that's not typically what I've seen on the N55 at stock or modded.

Mods: MPPK, MPE, VRSF 5" HD FMIC, FTP CP and TIC, Dinan CAI
Gas: Shell 91 Octane
Temp: Similar at high 80's with low humidity but unsure of exact numbers.
Odometer: ~47,000 miles
HP w/ WCF: 279.3 (@5267 RPM)
TQ w/ WCF: 314.0 (@3528 RPM)

I did not know that. Another thing I will consider! Thank you for the info!
