I am thinking about getting this set of wheels for my 340i x-drive. However, I am not sure if it will work or not. I have seen others fit 19x9.5 +35 offset on these cars. The wheels I am looking at are +49 offset. By theory, it should work with a 15mm spacer correct? Or has anyone tried this and found that the theory does not work in practice? I am considering buying one wheel and trying it out. If anyone has any insight on this please let me know. Any info will help.

Specs:
340i x-drive stock suspension (planning on dinan springs)
19"x9.5" squared +49 offset
255/35r19 Michelin Pilot 4s (subject to change)
Will spacers make these fit? What size spacer? How about the scrub? Would the change be worth it if it's about 15mm scrub after spacers?

15mm spacer will rectify the problem but I'd avoid that and recommend getting width offset and tire size that don't require spacers

Why would you recommend not running spacers? I have seen many people run them. Are there inherent issues involved that I may not know about? Unfortunately the wheels I am looking at only come in that size or 8.5 at +35 which I am not sure will be enough rubber as I am planning an 800whp build.

spacers do not have inherent issues except for longer lug bolts. while the actual lug bolt steel is not weaker, a longer lugbolt will have a larger moment force acting on it than one that is shorter. i'd rather have the wheel bolted up right to the hub, especially at 800whp. my philosophy with wheels and spacers is to try to find wheel specs that don't require them, but if you do need'em, to have the thinnest possible that rectifies interference issues or achieve a suitable offset. but if running 15mm makes you happy, i'm happy.

imo for 800whp you should run 8.5" +35 with 245/40/19 front and 9.5" +49 with 275/35/19 rear.

I planned on doing the larger wheel studs to make life easier. I heard about the excess forces asserted on wheels that are not up against the hub, and how it can affect wheel bearings and such. I was under the impression that 15mm would not cause too much of an issue as it wasn't a large difference.

I definitely prefer to not run spacers. However, the 9.5" wheels are what I wanted to run and for the reason of not wanting to run spacers I am still unsure. I have seen the 255 on the 8.5" but was unsure about the fitment and bulge of the tire. Not saying that it wouldn't work but that it may be a little silly stuffing such a big tire on the 8.5" width.

I have aftermarket wheels that required spacers. I almost returned the wheels because I would rather not deal with spacers as others mentioned. But I liked the wheels so much that I decided to keep them. Wheel stud conversion would make your life much easier if you decide to go with spacers.

9.5 inch wheels with 15mm spacers might be too much for the front. I think you will be running into rubbing issues. You might want to ask around with someone that has this type of setup.

15mm is not a large difference but 800whp is significant.

OEM 442M, 403M and 704M staggered setups have 255/35/19 on 19x8.5 at the rear. it's the minimum width required for 255/35. if the concavity of the 9.5" is the real reason you want them over 8.5", i understand.

It's more so the contact patch that I am after which is far different between the two.

Looked up the scrub again. With the spacer the scrub radius is the same as stock.

Correction: the wheels that I'm looking at, alternate size is 19x8.5 but et30 not 35. Has anyone ran these with 255/35r19 successfully? I think I've seen one guy run a +35 with a 5mm spacer, but I would like to see if more people have run it also with any luck.

I'm on 255 35 r19 19x9.5 +35 square no spacer im right up on the strut tho so yea a 8.5 wide +30 should work yo will stick farther outside the fender tho.
