Replacing bad radio with stock used replacement

I have a 2014 bmw 320i with the standard hifi audio system. I bought the car and the previous owner son put coins in the CD slot and the radio no longer produced sound. I ordered a used radio with the same exact part number and an amp from a junkyard. I installed the used radio and amp amd had the same problem. Both the new and used radio will turn on and change channels and when I push the volume button the screen will so mute.
However, there is no sound from the speakers. There is also a light on the dash and a code for the emergent call feature being disabled. Can anyone help!!!
