Why remove the m badge? If the car comes with m package from the dealer, and it has m signs on the steering wheel, and on other places... then you got to remove it also? You are talking usless... if it's a m package then he can have the m sign, as long as it dosent say m3/m4 .
Because The M badge is just for M cars. You can make it look like an actual M if you want but it's not an M. If that were the case then why do all M-Sport not come from factory with M on the rear? Only in the interior cosmetics. To put the M on the outside is misleading and that's as you say "talking useless"

By putting an M badge in the rear you are implying that your car is legit M but it's really not and any aficionado will know on the spot when usually for the most part anyone buying an M car is a BMW fanatic.

//M is about as exclusive a group as the Camry owners club. Give the guy a break, the OE M sport cars come with the badge on the side (and a million other places), why is it a big deal if he puts one on the back too?

Car looks great OP. I always thought the 4GC was a bit awkward but this helps it a lot

Absolutely they should make an M4 gran coupe and and M2 gran coupe.

I love it, who cares what anyone thinks. You didn't badge it as an M4, you just put an M badge on it.

There are cars coming straight from the factory with as many M badges or more so I have no issue. So many sensitive people out there... if you want exclusivity go buy an exotic.

Great job, don't know what's the fuss about the badge.

You should consider the M rear bumper and mirrors .

Add the rear spoiler and mode carbon lip.

Well done man!

Hard choice, but the car I've most regretted letting go was the e39 M5. Second was the e46 M3. Hoping the M2 will bring the passion back.

Very cool! I agree with debadging the car; keep them guessing. Have you tried getting some of your parts through junk yards? There's a few totaled cars to find parts from out there now.

Looks very nice. Should have been offered this way from factory. Prefer the 4 Series Gran Coupe side profile to the 3 Series Sedan.

although I think the car looks great, I agree....the M badge needs to be destroyed and set on fire

This car as a concept makes SO much more sense to me than an M4 coupe. BMW coupes have become a little bit ridiculous. The door size on the M4 is bordering on comical when you try to open it. The sedan is a little pedestrian though that's what I'd get. But the GC M treatment looks fantastic.

What's wrong with having the M badge in the back? It's an m sport and besides the whole M notion has changed in the last years

Jesus. Wow guys, give folks a break.

It's very common knowledge that BMW and M fanatics don't like M badges on non-M cars. In fact, most hate BMW putting M badges on their M-Sport or M-Performance models. We get it. We don't need to beat it to death every single day.

OP, your car looks fantastic!

OP, don't listen to all the mean ///M snobs on here:
The ///M badge is perfectly fine on your specially build BMW.
Your car has M parts, so the badge is fine, just like we see the badge on 7 series with M package and such.
None M cars do have M badge as per BMW.

BMW places M badges on the M-Sport optioned models all over the cars allready. Both interior and exterior!

On this 4-series GC, posted on BMW's website, there are 9 visible exterior M badges allready...

-Front wheels
-Rear wheels
-Front brake calipers
-Rear brake calipers
-Front fenders

So, at least 9 visible exterior M badges put on that "non-M" 4-series from the factory by BMW

My gf sent me this pic the other day, saying she "saw an M2", at which point I was obliged to correct her...

This 235 came directly from the factory with an M badge on the trunk, yet it's not an M.

In the OP's case, I would say it's not blasphemy to put the badge (a lot more deserving than the car pictured below), but he'd definitely hear a lot less whining from others (which takes away from the great job he did) if he removed it all together.

Awesome looking GC!

Here's the difference. BMW can badge them anyhow they want, they built it. It has all the proper parts for a real M or M performance model (M235i)

People who do this (I will agree, this looks good, and done very well... Hell I'd buy an M4GC if they built it) are nothing more then posers.

I'll take my real M4 badges off, put some M6 hardware on the car and badge it as an M6.

You know, because BMW should have built the M4 with some M6 parts.

Be proud of what you've done here, just take off the deck badge and side markers the M4.

You're trying to fake people (girls?) out by acting like you have something you don't, while at the same time being the laughing stock for girls and guys that know the difference.

It's a lose/lose.

All that aside.

It looks good, no bullshit.
