Is it wrong I feel absolutely no sympathy for these people? Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't wish anyone to die that way.
But.. they were breaking the law. People say graffiti is art and not a crime. No, unless you have permission to do it, its criminal damage and the train companies spend millions cleaning it off trains and bridges. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-44534102 Maybe I'm just a heartless bastard. Edit: title is meant to be no sympathy FROM me. Bloody predictive text and now won't let me change it. |

I'm with you on that. I used to manage retail property for a high street chain and the annual cost for clean up was huge. It might be art, but if its not how you wanted your shop walls painted then its a huge inconvenience.
It is criminal, and if they hadnt have been there then they wouldnt have been hit, so if they'd been acting withint he law they'd have still been here today. Shame anyone has to die, but thats the consequence of taking risks. |

It’s a very harsh penalty to pay for the crime and for all we know, the circumstance of the incident may be not be exactly what’s reported.
I certainly sympathise with the train driver. This will be with him for life. However, this kind of thing is typical of the UK today. People just don’t give a f***. It is all about the likes and me, me, me. I’ve have a right etc. People freeclimbing cranes and buildings. Taking drugs at festivals. Crossing railway tracks. The risks are perfectly apparent and entirely avoidable. But these idiots don’t care about their families and the people that have to mop it all up when it goes wrong. Until the sentences for crime are a proper deterrent and the admistrantion of the justice process is swifter, things will only get worse. |

Where I don't have sympathy is that apparently they came from decent backgrounds and were educated and they choose to throw that all away to leave their tag. They could have done anything with their talent and life but wasted it. They gambled with their lives and lost. |

I think it's bloody harsh to say they deserve to die for painting a wall.
I guess the OP and all those in agreement have never broken the law then. How nice to be whiter than white 😏 A crime is a crime, and personally I think 'most' graffiti is a total eyesore. But to say your happy they died for spraying a fecking wall is a bit shit IMO. |

Sometimes one's actions lead to a bad outcome, sometimes to the ultimate penalty. That what they were doing was suicidally dangerous was obvious and their choice. That they were damaging property and breaking the law was also their choice. They have paid the price, but they should have seen it coming. I feel sorry for the families and I have huge sympathy for the train driver and clean up crews, who will suffer a lifetime of horrendous memories due to the thoughtless actions of the graffiti artists. People exposed to that kind of traumatic event could suffer greatly in later life and some people who have been through similar will have had breakdowns and suicidal thoughts of their own. All of which is why I have no sympathy. That they have destroyed their own lives is self-evident. The damage done to others through their selfish actions will only be known to those affected people in decades to come and will not in any way be newsworthy.

Bloody fools who risked everything and lost it all simply for bragging rights and a bit of street kudos.
Unfortunately those left behind have to pick up the pieces (Make your own jokes on that one)

My point is these are three educated young men who had it all and they have thrown it all away trying to put their tag in a dangerous place no else had done so, trying to earn themselves kudos in their community. However their actions have left a trail of destruction behind. Parents who will have to bury their child. A train driver who will go to bed every night knowing he has killed 3 young men. Police officers who have had to walk the line with rubber gauntlets on and a plastic bag picking up body parts (have you ever seen a human body after it's been hit by a train? It's not pretty.) Paramedics who would have been called to scene even when it's obvious life is extinct. The train driver who spotted the bodies in the morning. 3 precious lives wasted and lost chasing a thrill. |
