Why?

Do we do what we do?

Do we question what we do?

Do we keep doing what we do even though we question what we do?

Why are we here?

What’s it all about?

Am I going to join Lobb in the priory?

P.S. i’m not losing it, honest!

Ya, but was kinda thinking like this the whole latter half of this week really.

Think I might need a holiday after doing 11+ hour days for as long as I can remember!

Ah right...

Sometimes life seems a little futile. Mainly because it is, but there's nothing better to do, so you get on with it, just trying to make the most of it.

Too true, doesn’t stop me questioning it once in a while though!

Hopefully the wife will start helping with the mortgage and bills soon and i’ll be able to have a break occasionally! I think that will do the world of good.

I’m lying here in bed now staring through my skylights looking at the clouds wondering when it’s safe to have a wank.

Hmmm. Life is the most fantastic thing we have.

Value every day and especially every healthy day.

Enjoy all the good people you know.

You never know when something will be taken away from you or taken away from someone you love.

Doesn't mean I don't get pissed off at times, I really do, most days I do ... but futile...no.

Very true.

You never know when some big ugly copper is going to knock on your door and tell you someone you love dearly has died.

That is actually what I meant. I mean futile, in that there's no greater meaning or purpose, just making the most of it, whilst you're here, because then you'll be gone!

It's very important to step out of the normal routine and see what else life has to offer and reward you with.

Career break(s), world travel, indulgent hobbies (mine's my car), music festivals; anything that's not the mundane, demanding, routine, normality where you can leave your regular life behind and let go of all the stresses.

My brother-in-law did Celtman last weekend - a massive achievement.

I've had several long trips around various parts of the world including choosing to take a year out of work. It was an absolute luxury and the memories stay with me forever.

Life is short. Make sure you enjoy it.

Sometimes when we are feeling a bit down, I know in the back of my mind there is someone a lot worse of than me. That is the reality. Mashin has it spot on.

I think the question you are asking yourself is why am I on this treadmill to provide a nice car, nice house, etc when I don't actually enjoy life...

Good point. Possessions are nothing versus real happiness.

We covet things that are not important or fundamental to our happiness, watches, cars, fancy gadgets, boobs (well OK I'll give you the boobs)

And then forget about or dismiss all the amazing stuff which is often free that does make us truly happy (or would if we gave it a chance). It doesn't matter why we're here, we are. So make the most of it.

Oh and too much wine doesn't help if you're having a bit of a wobble.

I've had many conversations with the missus about work and "enjoyment". I enjoy the money I get for my job and the fact it's easy for not a lot of money.

She often asks me if I enjoy what I do and she simply cant comprehend that I dont care for my job. I enjoy the money but the job bores the poo out of me.

She is a nurse (well, was. she is going back to it) and sees it as job satisfaction over money every day of the week.

If it was down to her providing for the family we would have a very very different family dynamic.

In the whole "why?" sort of questions I'm actually wondering why I drink so much beer in the evenings to relax when I could just swap over to herbal remedies to relax. Less alcohol. Less cost. fat!
