Considering a lease swap. Any Advice?
Hi All,
I'm a long time BMW guy, but have never leased before. Due to a long story that I don't need to get into, my wife thinks we should have a fourth car for the summer. I found a pretty favorable lease swap for a 2015 335GT that runs through the end of the year. I think it would be a good option, but I've never had a lease before and am concerned about hassles when we go to hand it in. My other option is to buy something cheap this summer use it for the 4 months we need it and try to sell it off for minimal loss. That sounds like more of a PITA than it is worth. I'd much prefer to pick up something nice, use it for seven months and give it back with a very clearly defined financial expectation. Any thoughts? Thanks, Josh |

I had a friend lease swap for his 5 series. If the finances work out, it could be a great way to have a long rental so to speak. It seems to work fairly seamlessly. Generally the down-payment is rolled into the monthly payments you're picking up. As long as you don't go over mileage or do any damage, you should be able to drop it at any BMW dealership and walk away.
Sounds like the perfect scenario for a summer car especially since you won't need another car after you turn it in. And, with a 335 - you can burn up the roads this summer! |
