NEED HELP!!! Adjusting xenon level

Anyone know where the screw is to adjust the level of the lights? It was pretty easy to find in the E90, but can't find it on the F30. Please help!!! I can't see anything at night.

Thanks in advance.

I thought they were supposed to automatically level out? I'm not sure if there is a screw or not on the actual light.

i know there is a mechanical switch on the front right control arm that measures something, not sure if its right and left or Up and down. After I dropped my car like 2 inches, my lights were pointed up a bit, I just left it like that. this was on a E92

I can see why you did that. I have, since day one, thought my headlights were aimed too low, despite what my SA says to the contrary. That said, I've also been able to see where I'm driving at night, so maybe he's right, but my sense is 1/2 to 1 degree higher would be just right.

OP, you may find something useful here ( http://www.bmwtips.com ) in the tips and trick section. Not sure how applicable it will be for F30s, but you can at least use what you find there to check your car and see if it applies. The instructions there are complete enough that you can dust off your algebra II/trig skills to figure out how much any given amount of adjustment will alter the beam's placement.

Alternately, the next time you are in for service, just tell your SA to adjust them.

Having this problem as well with my F30

Same with the E92, the xenons are pointed very low by default.

Thanks but I was looking more for the location of the actual adjuster like in the E90. With the way the bulbs are aimed right now, I can't even read the license plate of the car in front of me. The street lights are bright enough that I can see where I'm going for the most part, but I can't see the potholes until it's almost too late. If these cars didn't handle as well as it does, I would have wrecked a wheel already.

I'll have to stop by the dealer and see if they'll tell me where the adjuster is. If I find out, Ill post a pic.

No. they aren't. Go to 1:55, the part where BJ thinks the guy is adjusting the leveling...those are not xenons. i can see the reflector of the halogen, also there is no led bar/strip above the lights...

Correct at the 1:55 mark it looks like a silver no line with halogen possibly a 328i

Yes, but I thought that the height adjustment location might be the same for both headlamp options. Has anyone checked to see of this might be the case?.

My current car (which is 8 years old and from a cheaper brand than BMW) has a sensor on the rear axle to check the level of the car. The sensor needed to be reset after lowering the car (PC). Maybe this is also the case for BMW's?
It's possible they have a front and rear sensor too.

I have. The Xenon adjustment is in the same place. You just need a long allen wrench.

One more thing. Keep in mind that there is a leveling arm attached to the front lower control arm on the drivers side. This level takes into consideration the angle of the control arm and compensates the height of the xenons vertically.
