Groove in FR rotor
11,000 on brakes. No noise or vibration. Anyone have an idea of what's going on?

Debris took a trip between the pad and rotor.

That. Don't worry about it, it's not wide enough to create any problem. If you had a bunch of them then you'd want to resurface the rotor, and replace the pad if it was scored as well. Whatever you did to one side you'd do to the other as well, to keep them the same.

Thanks for confirming. OEM pads are softer by design to preserve rotor life. It's most likely road debris.
I haven't seen road debris getting trapped between the pad and the rotor. On a rare chance that brake pad has been tapered for some reason - in other words uneven pressure resulting in one corner having a slight gap - it's worthwhile to inspect the brake pad when you have a chance. |

Whatever you got got in there must have been pretty durable to cut a little line in the rotor. As bill mentioned, I wouldn't worry about.
