I think the opposite. To me the GC is the best looker. In person anyways. In pics i think the coupe looks better for whatever reason.

This confirms no 4 series LCI until MY2018 in 2017.

Hope the states gets the 420, but not holding my breath.

Looks like no 330 until July 2016 as MY2017.

Not quite relevant to the US. We need to wait for a BMW NA press release.

The 435d is still the fastest in the line up

Seriously doubt it, the engines will remain the same (and the best in class)

Dont think so, otherwise they would have to change the names of the diesel models, for example (EU x20d = US x28d)

This is correct.

For the U.S. the 4er is upline. You're smart not to hold your breath. There's no chance BMWNA will import the 420i.

I just put in an individual order on a 340 xdrive, does anyone know how much lighter the 440 xdrive will be than the 340 xdrive?

The 4 series has always been a little heavier than the 3.

Assuming the 440i GC hits the UK in the Spring, I'll be looking for an approved used ex-demonstrator towards the end of the year.

Best looking car in the entire range in M Sport guise, IMHO.

If I still had my 2015 428i GC with 6MT before it got recalled, I'd be very happy. You, sir, have one of a kind car in North America. 430i won't be that much faster than your car if they still go with the SULEV route (like the N26 that replaced the N20 for MY2016), the N20 is faster because it has a wider power band.

I think in the real world a tenth of a second or two faster is not worth much...and one would have to wait for actual tests to know for sure. The "old", "obsolete" engine/drive train combo is pretty fine and has a great track record!

Wonder what this does to the resale value of 2015 428/435 GC's.

That said, the specs and price of the M2 supersedes it's somewhat awkward exterior and has reeled me in as #1 on my cross-shop list.
I think the 6 series gran coupe is the gem of the BMW lineup currently.

The 4 series GC is definitely right up there with the 6 series ..
Clearly the 4 series GC is selling well as it now has 3 models 420, 430 and 440

Wait... So the 440i is slower than the current 435i with the N55? I thought BMW claimed acceleration at 4.7 seconds for the current f30/2 3/435i? The new one is back to 5 seconds flat with the new engine?

On an unrelated note, I still absolutely love the styling of the 4 GC. Really wish they had an M version (I know it will probably never happen).
