I don't think there is any BMW I could say I'd be ashamed to drive....

I voted Yes because I ordered my 320d without model designation. If it had been a 335 I would not have done it but that doesn't mean I do it to hide the fact that I have the small engine (the exhaust is a give-away anyways) but I think it looks better without it. There is nothing on the left side of the trunk and that makes it look unbalanced badge-wise.
My E61 msport was ordered without badge and it looks soooo clean from behind so I want that for my F31 too. Haha, in this picture the E61 is anything but clean though: http://www.autopower.se/galleriet/ga...3_46150_S6.jpg |

Only one of my former eight BMWs I had debadged, my ex 2010 535iA. It looked clean(BSM). I won't debadge my current one.
Come to think of it, I could change '335i' for '316i', wouldn't that be snobism at its finest? Cheers Robin |

Can someone explain to me how debadging the car is considered "rice" I can completely understand when people put fake M badges on a car, but simply removing the emblem to clean up the look seems like anything but rice. My last car was an E46 M3 that had no M emblems on it. Trust me, the only people who care about it being an M3, know it's an M3 without the emblems. I debadged my F30 and think it looks much better, and no I could care less that it's a 328i

Saw this topic last night and thought it was interesting, and then this morning on my way to work I saw a brand new (without a license plate) F30 328i debadged. What made it more interesting was that it was driven by a woman...wonder if her boyfriend/husband did it?

This has to be a joke- "disrespect" to your car? It looks cleaner and more tidy to remove the model designation...the 335, 328, X drive, etc. are asymmetrical and in-congruent with the lines and shapes of the car...marketing/branding clutter...the design of the body and engineering of the mechanicals are the identity of the vehicle, the model badges are just labels to tell the people who don't already know what it is...in fact, I would venture to say that by putting badges on the car, the marketing/branding folks are disrespecting the design created by the designers. When I take a new car home, I promptly remove the dealer's ridiculous advertising license plate frame (I can't believe how many people leave those on) and then remove the model designation badges.

lol in that case bmw must be disrespecting their own car by having the option to buy debadged in Germany.

Because BMW knows there are people who like that. Just like they know some people want 20 inch rims on their car so they offer that too even though it negatively affects performance and ride as well as looks(increase wheel gap and higher off the ground resulting in monster truck look). Fewer badges to put on = Lesser cost of production. This same poll was taken on Bimmerforums(M3) and out of 222 votes only 38(17%) debadged their M3 which means it's more of a pride issue. Although, I know a small percentage of people genuinely believe it looks cleaner. I don't. Out of the 40 people who voted "yes" on this poll, guarantee at least 30 of them are 328 or lower model owners. It's a personal thing so do whatever you like to your cars.

Hey guys I posted earlier and SVACHE said use floss, but I was wondering if I could get a little more detail about debadging the car. What is it held on with? How hard is it to get off, how do you debadge without hurting the paint? And do you really super glue it back on?(sorry this may be a retarded series of Q's I just have no idea...)

- Fewer badges to put on = Lesser cost of production - assuming they make their own badges. If not, ordering more would get them a better price - small percentage of people genuinely believe it looks cleaner - opinion - 40 people who voted "yes" on this poll, guarantee at least 30 of them are 328 or lower model owners - opinion - which means it's more of a pride issue - opinion It is a personal thing for sure and I agree that most 335i and M3 owners have a pride issue (opinion). After all most of them buy a car that has more power than needed and is useless on the local streets, unless they like getting tickets and breaking the law (opinion). I'm sure a small percentage of 335i and M3 owners actually track their cars, but mostly for showing off (opinion). I respect 335i and M3 owners who debadge their car, in my opinion they are the ones that truly appreciate their cars design and power. If I had a 335i the first thing I would do is debadge it, most people can't tell the difference just by looking at the exhaust... but that's just me. Also keep in mind that data can be interoperated in many ways. Just because most people vote to keep their badge on, doesn't mean they are against the idea.

Just do what this guy does, and you'll be all set. The excess glue still comes out perfectly nice, it took me about a minute or so to remove the badge and another minute to get rid of the extra goo.. all I used was floss for the badge and my fingers to remove the glue. I didn't even have as much glue left on my car as this brandnew X5 in the video lol
