Hey guys,

With the somewhat success of the LIKES / DISLIKES of F30/F32 that I've borrowed from my previous forum, I figured I'd try to bring this one also which was very popular.

Often times we want to rant about something on the road, but it's too insignificant to make a new thread to share.

You know, the left lane hoggers, the G35 tinted tail light douche, a Pontiac just cut you off, a Corolla didn't shoulder check and almost side swiped you, or a Sienna who took 5 minutes to park a spot at Walmart. The list goes on.

Share your stories. Share your rants. Share that dude that wanted to race you but failed miserably. If you got a dash cam video, even better!

I'm going to start with a general stereotype. Actually I think it's more of a fact now after observing this for the past 7 years of driving.

Anyone realize that usually the people who piss you off on a road for being stupid is often times a Toyota? I just don't get why but it's always a Toyota who would take forever to park, who doesn't shoulder check, who thinks it's okay to take 5 minutes to pass one car on the left lane and cause a huge jam of cars behind, who changes lane towards the right lane when people are trying to merge in or other stupid sh*t?

This is most certainly my biggest gripe of driving and will continue to be for quite some time. I can tolerate assholes now, but I just can't tolerate stupidity.

Could just be based on the sheer number of Toyotas on the road in comparison to other brands. The same way that in terms of sheer numbers, more gray cars get pulled over by the cops than any other color, but when you factor in the number of cars in each color and make it a ratio, red cars have the highest percentage occurrence.

I recently moved to Oklahoma, and for some reason the Nissan drivers are who I most often see doing something dangerous or annoying. But again, could just be a LOT of Nissan owners around here compared to other brands.

I have to say the most annoying are domestic truck drivers. Usually raised, chrome wheels, ball sacks hanging, squeaky clean waxed truck/big SUV drivers. For some reason they are very douschy and like to weave in and out of traffic. This is the type I see most.

There are other general types too.

Middle-aged women on cell phones! 99% of are usually yapping away without a clue about what is going on around them! I see far more women than teenagers and the teens are the ones getting a bad rap.

1. Edmonton drivers can't drive at all. Seriously I have no idea how they 90% of them got there licenses.
2. Cars with fart cans because they're just so damn annoying
3. Pimped out Diesel trucks which spew out black smoke. +19439493890539 in annoyance when the smoke goes all over your car because they're assholes.
4. Attempting to merge in traffic. Why? Well because here everyone slows down to way below the speed limit when attempting to Merge -.-
5. Slow lousy drivers are one of the most annoying things ever, especially if they're on the left lane on the highway.
6. People which literally park a inch from your car. It's almost as if they want to scratch/damage your car on purpose.
7. Watch Bad Edmonton drivers on youtube. It'll explain everything.

There needs to seriously be some tv show which has a challenge to see which drivers are the worst in the world haha. I think Edmonton would fit into your list also if ya ever drove here XD

Oh I have a ton....let's start with 5...


1) On residential streets, the effing landscaping morons with their blowers, shooting dust, sand and crap into the street as you drive by in a just washed car.

2) Dump trucks driving down the highway that drop a few pieces of gravel every time they hit a bump...when they are in front of you.

3) Toyota indeed! Especially the Prius drivers, usually with the "Coexist" and "Obama/Biden" stickers that cruise at 50mph in the right hand lane when you're trying to merge onto the highway.

4) Idiots with their cell phones plastered to their ears, drifting across three lanes, going half the speed limit. You can't drive and talk at the same time?! And get yourself a headset!!

5) Idiots (probably the same ones as #4) who are texting away on their phone or reading emails, or posting some stupid useless crap on Facebook and not even looking at the road.

I'm pretty sure I alone could contribute countless pages to this thread.

At the top of my list are all things related to cell phones, which is a rather long list in itself.

If you remove cell phones from the equation, the left lane artists are the worst. The concept of slower traffic keeping right is non-existant for some people. Cell phones only exacerbate this situation because some people that might not normally take up residence in the left lane get talking on their cells and completely forget they are even there.

All traffic jams in phoenix az could be solved by people getting on the freeway at freeway speeds, not accelerating to 45 on the ramp, merging and jamming up the right two lanes- one with their slow ass, and the other with people jumping left to dodge em.

On the exit off the highway to my street you come to a traffic light with a right turn lane. It's one of those where the the people turning right actually turn into a brand new lane, i.e. the cross street expands from 2 lanes to 3 lanes and the right-turners are the start of the new lane.

The right turn is set up with a ton of room to swing wide so it's not a sharp right. There's one of those pictographic "right turners turn into their own lane" signs. But people coming off the highway kept coming to a full stop anyway. So six months later (I experienced all this as new construction) the traffic engineers installed a permanent right turn green arrow. It's always on, always green. But people kept stopping anyway. So another 6 months later engineers installed a big sign that says "Right turn don't stop". But still people keep coming to a full stop.

Three visual indicators to not stop, but people stop. Now ironically, about 100 feet before all of that is a yield sign where local traffic merges with the offramp traffic and local traffic is supposed to yield. Nobody yields or even slows down, everybody blows through that one (I even had one guy get pissed when I switched lanes in front of him when he had the yield sign). But then everybody stops at the next don't stop/green arrow/keep moving sign.

Go figure.

Yup I see that a lot. And then those slow mergers go directly to the far left lane and back up traffic behind them.

I do agree that people in NYC are crap drivers. However, upstate NY is a whole different story, it's practically a different state

Let me have a sexist rant.....

Women on cell phones!! I've come to the conclusion that women can not drive without talking on their cell phones. I watched a woman come out of Walmart. Get into her car. Start the car and back up, and then drive forward while dialing a number and calling someone. She couldn't do that while sitting stationary in the car?

Try an experiment. When you are out and about, start counting the number of women on cell phones, compared to the number of men you see on cell phones. You'll be amazed.
