Another quote from a BMW specialist garage USD 12500 for complete rebuild using genuine parts. Or USD 8500 for complete rebuild with OEM parts Other option I have is 2nd hand engine, lot more cheaper but cannot source one from where I live. Need to import one from UK or Germany and still no guarantee of the mileage/conditions of it. Since 2020 March there is a complete ban of vehicles to the country due to covid related economic difficulities.lifting the ban is uncertian so no hope of buying a new one or even nearly new cars, they are listed more than twise of its original price Therefore I do not wish to rebuild it cheaply. Any advise using oem parts and its reliability. I have heard horror stories spun bearing after a rebuild?
