A good run last nite

Had a 550i run me last nite. I think we both surprised each other. Race started at around 70mph. I honestly wasn't expecting any fight whatsoever, but this guy had some upgrades. I ended up pulling a few car lengths or so by 5th gear. When we pulled off the fwy next to each other, he asked if I was an M5. LOL. To his defense it was dark and he said he was running 550whp with a twin turbo setup his buddy did. I told him I was a 3 series (which I'm sure he saw after I pulled away). He was blown away that a 3 series could have that type of power. I think he was even more blown away when I pulled my iPad off the dash and said I have a pure stage 2 turbo and a jb4 piggy back tuned "with this iPad". He was trippin to say the least.

Anyway, guys.. That top end power is insane.. Real world stuff right there.

Do we know how much HP/Tq the X-Drive + AT setup can handle before we start breaking stuff?

I'ld imagine AWD + 500 Ft Lbs + No Tq limitation = 0-60 in the 3 second range, and 10 second 1/4 miles...

Yup! got the tracking number today

If I end up installing it myself ill do my best to take as many pics as I can. Depends on how lazy I am lol. Comes in Thursday!

I won't say not optimal, but it wasn't designed for performance. The N55 is offered in practically every model so the focus was on efficiency and low-end. Thing is, there was still a lot of room left for BMW to go without sacrificing a material amount of drveability and response resulting in much greater output. There's really no practical benefit to a turbo which is fully spooled by 1900 RPM unless you're in a diesel truck used for towing.

Good luck trying to catch me : but ill be at eurocharged Thursday, if I decide to let them install it. Waiting on an estimate to see if its worth the money cuz I can easily do it myself lol. Otherwise ill prolly install it Thursday and then bring it to them Friday or Saturday.
