Agree with the ignore comment. Life it too short to give people like Escalade man even a moment of your time.

Debadging does wonders for these types of problems. Only fanatic BMW owners like us can tell the engine by counting tail pipes. There is nothing on the trunk to read, so it keeps everyone guessing. They don't know what to say.

Now days the only comments I get are: "So what exactly is your car...?"

Wish I had crazy money to build it or swap it and tell him to go grab that m4 .. that he specifically told me “downpipe” not that it had it but just stated downpipe lol what a guy.

Around here where i live its everywhere from: Maryland, DC, NOVA, WVA and the best PA (Not). Honestly i driven in Chicago and they were better drivers up there..

A friend and I were on the way home from a motorcycle ride. I was on a Yamaha R1 and the was on a GSXR 1000. We were on a street with stoplights every two blocks and it's almost impossible to hit a streak of green lights.

A guy in a 4x4 pickup made a big show of squealing his tires at each light as if he thought we'd race him. When he did it a third time, the cop behind him turned on the lights and siren to pull him over as we calmly rode down the street.

A few days later, a guy called my office looking for a DUI lawyer. When he started bitching about the cop who let the two assholes on "crotch rockets" go, even though they were taking off faster from the light, I told him I was one of those assholes and we were riding very calmly and weren't going to race some drunk goofball in a pickup truck that couldn't keep up with us, even if we hadn't noticed the cop car behind him.

Brand new to BMWs and brand new to the forum. I got my new-to-me 330i just because I loved how it drove and how it felt, nothing else. You sound similar, and I’ll tell you what I told myself when I bought it: I’m not going to get in a peeing match with a skunk, ever. (Old saying from my cowboy grandfather...)

There will always be people who stroke their inadequate self-esteem by putting others down. As a high school teacher, I deal with them all the time. They usually don’t go very far, sadly. What you need to do is simply ignore. As others have said, never escalate - that’s usually exactly what they want, as they usually come from pretty bad emotional backgrounds with not great parental figures. Any escalation is just a normal interaction to them, as that’s what they’re used to.

You’ve got a great car, a beautiful car. Just move on, turn up the music a little louder, and have fun driving!

I just drive... I don't get pissed easily, don't car how people drive, I actually expect shitty driver around... each and every damn car next to me is a shitty driver. If you are that driver next to me don't bother getting mad that just how I see everything everyday. I just keep everything in line on my end.

I expect some driver will cut me off or me cutting off people who won't let me change lane properly. Come on if you see my blinker 10 times and you keep block me off you will get cut off if you ever blink and leave a gap/ space in front of you. I don't bother anyone and nobody bother me either. It's just life.

As other's have said, some people go around trying to provoke strangers, sometimes hoping to escalate it into a physical alteration.
