I was all on board for the Blizzak WS 80s until I found out about their special compound wearing out after 50%. The X Ice I-3 are very comparable to the Blizzaks but the blizzaks wear out much faster than the i3s. If I can source an Ontario Nokian retailer, I will go with the HKPT R2s otherwise I will probably get the X Ice I-3s. |

Congrats on the 440
Have you tried contacting your local dealers? I was able to get a winter rim and tire set for $1,800 about a month ago. They are OEM Style 441M Ferric Grey with 225/45/18 Pirelli Sottozero 2 Winter Run Flat tires. They're more reasonably priced because the dealer told me they were take offs and that cars delivered in the winter come with these sets and then are swapped out to spec rims for delivery. The sets usually have delivery usage of 10-20 kms and when I was looking in the summer there were at least 3 sets available locally. Please let me know if you want any more details and I can always pm a copy of invoice if that helps so someone can try to price match. Last edited by Ace_1; 09-20-2017 at 07:08 PM.. |

X Ice RFT ?
Quote:
What is left to be decided is RFT or non-RFT. So far I don't remember seeing X Ice RFT to any of tire retailers in GTA. Have not checked in the last week though. I wasn't aware of the Blizzak compound wearing issue, but sharing knowledge and tips is one of the the reasons we are on this forum. Hypermile, I implemented few of your mods and suggestions while we were on the other forum, I hope you are glad you jumped the ship. My 328d is fantastic and could not be happier. What a difference ! Cheers |

Does anyone know how wide are the 19" M wheels that 440's come with? If it has both the M Perf packages? And would a 255 tire fit the front? Thanks.

My F31 has both M packages. My wheels are 442s 19". They are a staggered setup, with 255 35 19s in the rear and 225 40 19s up front.

I'm curious to know what thread you are referring to and what mods you implemented. I am very happy with the 328d. The only complaint I have about the car is the inability to adjutant throttle response in comfort mode. I like having the full potential of the engine at all times and find the throttle laggy in GTA traffic driving in comfort and eco mode. By the time my engine picks up, one or 2 cars have already cut in front of me lol. I know a thing or two about hypermiling, feathering the throttle and coasting are the basics of hypermiling. I also hate the sloppy feel of the steering (first few weeks I was struggling to keep the car in the lane without making constant adjustments, kept activating the lane keep steering wheel vibration lol) unless I go into sport mode and select chassis or chassis and drivetrain, but the problem is if I pick chassis, my suspension gets stiff and sucks for GAT local driving and even hwy pot4ole-0-1. Again if I could pick the throttle response, damper and steering separately in all modes, I would me very pleased. Two things I am content about are the torque and efficacy of this little motor. Turbo Diesel FTW! |

Imagine if we can get something like that on the new 6WB cluster, or even on the 6WA extended... |

call Dave at Steelecase Tires. last time I looked at winters he was cheaper than Simply tire winter packages by a good $200. Same tire and both had good replica rims.

looking for 18" OEMs as well that will clear the m1 blue sports brakes. Not sure if its just the rim style with its offset that will put the spokes out further to clear the calipers.
Anyone know which 18" oems will clear? Square setup is preferred. |

I got a wicked deal on kijiji for a set of active hybrid M OEM 18" wheeels with Pirelli Cinturato P7 RFT 225/45r18,! They are brand new take offs, even the tires are fresh with DOT 2716! Finally a decent price on a set of 18" good looking OEM wheels! Now to sell the all seasons and source some Nokians.
If anyone is looking to replace their summer tires, I am selling the Pirelli Cinturato P7 RFT. PM me. Last edited by Hypermile; 09-28-2017 at 12:30 PM.. |

hey guys, I have a set of 18" OEM rims with BMW star spec sottozero tires from my 340i (so they're covered by the rim/tire warranty if you have it)
not sure yet if I'm going to sell them or use them as an incentive for my lease transfer so depending on what happens I may post them up soon any idea what they would be worth? |

They're definitely covered by the rim/tire warranty - warranty follows the car. As long as the rim/tire is BMW spec then you're safe. That price sounds pretty fair |

I just paid for a set of 225/45R18 Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 95R XL, from Kal Tire.
Nokian and Kal Tire are having a promo, $50 off for a set of tires, plus your choice of and era NFL hat and a chance to win a trip for 2 to the super bowl. I paid $1,160.00 after rebates, install and tax! http://www.kaltire.com/en/promotions/tires/ Last edited by Hypermile; 10-10-2017 at 10:09 AM.. |
