Nope, standard audio. This is more of a strong repeated pulsing (5x or more times) noise, not just a power coming on sound.

Anyway, back when I was having these issues before, it'd happen maybe 2x a month, but usually the screen just wouldn't turn on when the car was started. It'd stay off for sometimes 5 minutes, or the whole day, and persist across the car being left off for several hours. Sometimes it'd try to restart, make the pulsing noise, and just die again.

There are 3 different scents. Purifying Green Tea, Balancing Amber and something called Energizing Tonic, which I haven't tried yet.

I think every time a "Could not duplicate" is given by a service department, a star somewhere far in the universe goes supernova. I'm really getting sick of hearing that shit from my service dept especially when I show the SA the issue and he agrees that there's an issue.

Lol you took a picture, they know its happening, why should it need to be duplicated. Just go with the normal course of action of they did see it happening.

If that was the only issue, I would have been fine. Things only got worse.

They had me come in to see if I could duplicate it. The lot was packed and there was no place to park, so I pulled the loaner into the handicapped space. Go inside, talk to the SA. 10-15 minutes later, I hear that there was a parking ticket on the car. So the police came onto BMW of Bayside's private property, and ticketed one of their loaners. The dealer tells me that its my ticket because I put it there. Needless to say, I was pretty damn pissed. I called the Village of Great Neck court, they tell me that even on Private property, the police are allowed to come on and ticket for handicapped parking and parking in the Fire Zone. Since when? I worked 6 years doing security in parking lots and I've never heard of that. In one of the lots I would move the handicap signs to where I wanted them. Even if they could do that, wouldn't there need to be a complaint first?

Of course, I'll be fighting that, all the way to the mayor if necessary. $280 for a parking ticket? Come on! What happened to the $50 tickets?

And of course, I couldn't duplicate it either.

Holy shit that's annoying. How nice of the cop to go out of his way and onto private property to ticket a car, and what if the Bayside people had parked it there? Wouldn't it just be invalid because its there property and they can do what they want?

I have no idea anymore. I'm getting different answers from everybody. I'll go talk to the DA and see what happens. Lucky, my mom knows the mayor of the Kensington town of Great Neck, so if thats Kensington, which I believe it is, it may just be able to be dismissed.

I googled around a bit -- it seems people who had this happen before just had the head unit replaced. Maybe try another dealer? If you have photo documentation, I'm not sure what else they'd want to see.

Hehe, I got the same message when I reported the issue.
The "guy" even wanted a copy of the picture of the error, but as long as they "couldn't duplicate it", they couldn't do anything :P

Recently there was the same inscription "No Signal". A few minutes later the radio sound disappeared, then all recovered. And it is 2 days before the end of the warranty period (2 years in Russia).
Subtotal - the replacement the head unit.

Yeah, its through OBD2 with the BMWhat App.

I'm not set up to code yet, so I don't have the software.

I went to my dealer and he updated the whole car to the new 55 level and since this it never happened again. :-)

I just took my car in for this as it happened 4times in the past month. My dealership said there was a service bulletin out for this and it should fix the problem. I don't have the service bulletin number just my invoice which has an OPCODE for the coding

Wtf has a tunnel got to do with anything. It's not a signal as in a radio signal it's a physical lack of data feeding through cables because of a fault in the iDrive unit somewhere.

Does annoy me that with a picture and an error code they can just replace the pissin' thing, or at least update the firmware at least

Just out of interest; when it happened for anyone have you tried manually resetting with a soft reboot of iDrive by holding the power button for 20-40 seconds (seems to vary per car). If this fixes it could point towards more of a software issue rather than dodgy had war such as wiring or connections that could be affected by movement/rattling or temperature (shouldn't but could!)

Just got this issue on MY 2014 f30 last night
I was at a red light listening to music and system crashed, screen just displayed no signal, i thought my rear camera had stopped working or something. pressed the parking button and no response from the system screen. about 5mins later the screen turned off and it restarted, instrument cluster was completely fine

Called bmw few hours ago booked an appointment. so happy this happened within the warranty period!
