Headlight lense cracking
Hey, everyone. It seems the lenses on my headlights have little cracks in the lense that you cant feel on the outside. They dont feel pitted from rock chips and defenitly look like little fractures in the lense. I was wondering what causes this and if theres a way to fix it. it makes the headlights look pitted or dirty and takes away from the overall look. I added some pics to clarify what I'm talking about. Thanks!

Had that similar problem with our previous 2013 328i where the left lens had tiny stress fracture lines. The right lens was ok. Thankfully, it was still under warranty and the dealer replaced the lens. I suspect the lens was forced attached and over a period of time, developed tiny crack lines. See the link above posted by eddymerckx3.

Thanks guys! I still have alittle left of my CPO Warrenty. I'll try to email my SA tomorrow about the stress fractures and see what he says. Hopefully I'll get lucky like most people in that linked thread. Thanks!

After a long wait the dealer says the BMW rep said that the lenses wont be covered by CPO warranty. I guess I'll have to live with them till a good used set pops up somewhere. Thanks for the help guys!

There are some non OEM BMW lens covers on eBay that a few have used for replacement. No idea how they work. They obviously do not have BMW logo on the lens. |

I just noticed this on my car this morning. I just got this F31 two days ago. I have 6000 miles left of my factory warranty till the CPO takes over. I'm going to see what they can do about it.
