Drivetrain malfunction 168002

Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone could please assist, I'm getting a drivetrain malfunction with the only code showing up 168002 Knock Sensor 1 engine noise below limit value or line disconnection, I've replaced the sensor and also swapped with knock sensor 2 and still I'm getting the same issue. No misfire codes or mixture codes, I've tried swapping coils and plugs but all cylinders seem to misfire randomly.

I've attached a log from bimmerlink, in both zip and pdf, the pdf is a bit hard to read so if you prefer you can extract the zip and it contains the raw csv file. If someone could please take a quick look at it and tell me if they spot anything obvious.

From what I see the boost seems a little low, I did a test on Ista and and it's showing the closed value as -1.54mm, which is a decent amount away from the setpoint... does anyone know if this is a big issue or not? There is a slight rattle to the wastegate linkage.

Unfortunately not, I tried to check the wiring on the sensor as I saw it was a bit suspect, I unfortunately ended up worsening it and am now looking for a new wiring harness. I'm still not sure where the fault lies but just waiting for my indy to open then I'm taking it in, will update with what they find, I will mention the wastegate actuator tolerance issue and let them adjust it.

It ended up being a stripped wire, even after i had an auto electrician tell me the wiring is "good" and spent A LOT on mechanical parts. Took the whole harness out myself and saw a break in the wiring leading to and from the knock sensor and the DME (specifically 12517619135 the harness for sensor module 1 that plugs into the DME) I guess sometimes you just have to DIY. After I found the break I had a different, much better auto electrician fix the harness up nicely and plugged it back in, no issues now, finally.
