I've never been a big fan of black wheels… they make the tyres look brown.
My personal opinion is that dark grey wheels on a dark grey car don't look too great either, need a bit of contrast. I'd go for lighter grey/silver, or black/dark grey with diamond cut face, so you have that contrast. But that's just my £0.02 and clearly many disagree as black wheels are pretty common.

Granted alloy wheels were always usually silver and got rather common, but against the grey I really like the look. Against any lighter paint colour though I think darker wheels are better, but dark paint I think lighter wheels suit.
