Catless down pipe without tune

running a AR design hi flow catless downpipe, just wondering if it's safe to run without a tune. also does it give me better fuel economy if i run a, let's say, Stage 1 91 octane agg map on bootmod3

You can run it without a tune but you'll get the CEL. And no, you won't. More power = more fuel.

I've wondered if you can run an o2 spacer to prevent a cel? I did it on my jag, but that was long ago

at first i purchased it, but a tech at my job told me it didn't have to, at the end of a day it's just a code, but the tune will remove that, so not worried

So did you mean you got a high-flow catted DP or a catless DP? I consistently get the CEL right at 50 miles with a catless DP?

Real positives are (IMO):
1) Very low cost part
2) Pretty much bullet proof regardless of boost you tune
3) Quicker boost recovery during hard shifts (with included extra spring)
That was enough for me.

It’s not necessarily a matter of time, but a matter of mileage. Once the ECU realizes there are no cats it will let you know.

yeah it's a catless, back when i bought it they advertised it as High Flow Catless lol but one thing i don't like is i still have a stock exhaust so it sounds kinda "tinny" and i just need it to sound a little more deeper not high pitched

also i hear the turbo spooling up a lot louder than before with the gfbdv

performance feels great for my daily driver.

Are you N20 or N26? After a couple weeks driving with a catless DP on my n26, I ordered up the cat-back AWE touring suite. A cost I was hoping to avoid but as you said, it's way too tinny sounding. I should get it in about 2-3 weeks. I can't wait to get it installed.

Nope. Not yet. AWE is make to order so I probably have one more week before it's here. I'm sure it will be well worth the wait. The day it arrives I'm calling out sick I'll post pics and sound clips.

Man, I'm excited for you! I have the MPE but assuming AWE and MPE sound somewhat similar, prepare to have a very good sounding car (humble brag whatever)! Get excited

Thanks, I'm super excited. I was actually doing good the last 10 days not thinking about it...now this thread has me drooling and begging for arrival again.
