It's not even that 3 hours is that bad. That's like a trip to LA with traffic. For me, it's just lucky if I get time to sit down on the weekend, lately. Feels like I have something going on every day and even on the days I don't have anything planned, something always comes up lol. Trying to dedicate 8 to 10 hours to do this will be a PITA, so I'll just wait till I have those bolts in and tuned for E30.

No. Some of us are either busy with life and don't live near a track. Between work, school, and a personal life, along with waiting til I get my tune/bolts done, I haven't made it yet. Nearest track is like three or so hours away from where I live, so only makes sense to just go there in like a month or two when the build is done.
I totally understand people in your situation... I do.

It does seem strange to me that the handful of people who have posted slips are very minimally modified from stock.

There are a lot of people on here with really "impressive signatures" and thousands of dollars (and man hours) spent on their N2X but not a single one has ran their car down the 1/4 mile? Or they have but are purposely not sharing the slip (or are too lazy)?

I guess at the end of the day, Im interested to see how fast 300rwhp is on this platform. At this point we can only guess.

Yeah, I have no idea TBH. I can only speak for myself and IssaF32 as we're both down in San Diego but I'll drag him up there with me when I go. He'll be able to give the Stage 2 (Possibly E30 mix as well) perspective and I'll give mine with the upgraded turbo.

Maybe us guys with a ton of upgrades are just non-stop working to get those installed? Lol. If I had a closer track, I'd have no issues going two separate times. For now, the only track I have is the street.

I'm definitely interested to see how you and IssaF32 do on the strip.

Great so far. Noticed a little bit of a difference up top with the Stage 2 tune but we'll really see her shine with a custom tune. Hopefully, I can give you an update this summer.

Fontana has drag days but that's a long ass drive for me to get a minute of drag time (if they're busy). Irwindale is closer but honestly, 1/8th sucks on a DD. Who wants to go 75-80mph in 7-8secs or so? BORING. I miss running Pomona when they did Street Legals. I have close to 200 passes on my Impala running there. My 428 is faster but no where convenient to run.

Tell me about it.. We have "Race Legal" here in San Diego. 1/8 mile in the parking lot of Qualcomm Stadium (Where the Chargers used to play). Now just think about how great of traction I got even with PSS tires... I think best I could rip out was 8.8 at 88mph? Great numbers... 8...8...8...8...

I'm excited to get to a proper track where people don't all burn through 1st and 2nd gear.

Sso..

Since you ran 8.8 at the 1/8 mile strip... that would put you around 17.6 for the 1/4 mile since its twice as long... right?!

Exactly! I'm actually going for the slowest N2X.

If it were a real track without potholes and messed up concrete, I'd be low 8s, and if I'm lucky low 7s. One day..

300 whp is not anywhere near 360 crank on a RWD car. That would be a 17% drive train loss. Even AWD cars don't lose that much.

I always understood 15% to be the standard for AWD automatic cars. Sounds close enough to me. Maybe 300whp equates to 345 at the crank? Not too far from 360 anyway.

I've already decided to push the cap to 350-380whp. But yes, I threw out an ambiguous number since I haven't dyno'd. Guess we'll find out when the day comes.

Hi ... newbie here.

What is the purpose of this LPFP upgrade ?
Is there an issue with the N20's LPFP ?

Rgds,

The N20 OEM LPFP doesn't respond well to E30+ mixes and stresses out the pump over time. This isn't to say that a stock pump can't push E30+ but it certainly can drive down the lifetime. As a preventive measure, most of us just replace the pump to prevent any issues.

I’d assume I’m in the 300+ range, I can beat a stage 1 N55. I’ve never dynoed my car, USP did $40 dyno day a couple Months back but I missed it to go down the strip at PBIR. As far as mods I’m running, downpipes no kitty’s, intercooler, muffler delete kept the resonator, JB4 set to map 2 on 93 or E30 mix or VP race gas PBIR has a large selection of Fuel options.

On another note, a commonly looked over reliability measure on these cars is heat, keeping the engine cool as possible is important. Heat wrapping your down pipe to keep the heat in the exhaust and out of the engine bay, and insulating your intake and intake box, gold foil around the back and bottom of the intake box and foil around the lower intake pipe connecting to the turbo inlet pipe, that pipe is right next to the block with nothing blocking the heat from soaking into it.

15mm rear sway bar from the M240 seems to be the popular option.

Research it and let me know if your interested. I have two (one for myself).

Comes with bushings and steel straps. Excellent condition. Its a direct bolt on as well.

Going with the theme of keeping the engine bay as cool as possible, I'm considering getting a CF vented hood, and having it painted in body color. Having the heat escape through hood vents should theoretically reduce heat or at least cut down the time it takes for the engine and the components to cool down?

I really want to make sure I have heat under control before I go completely nuts with the engine and start chasing 350whp - 380whp.

Quick question how do you like your throttle body spacer?
