It doesn't show in our 2012 car with CIC Pro Nav either. They are looking into it at the dealership as they are having trouble with earlier cars getting it to show. It was serviced as required though and has been recorded on the network system as such.

I'm not worried then, they'll have the car back at the end of the PCP anyway.

Jesus give the guy a brake he asked a serious question and just got abuse! We all have our opinions of what's best etc but he's already had the oil change done end of. These sort of righteous posts are one of the reasons I'm taking more interest in the FB group as there just seems to be a select few of know it alls on here. If you're not in the click then you're not worthy of posting it seems.

I elreally don't know why you all swear by the main dealer. My experience with stratstone BMW was just about the worst I've had anywhere. Have failed to pick up on my loose handbrake, measuring my rear discs more than 1mm under what they were, measuring my tread depths wrong, putting the wrong pressure in my tyres then trying to say it was because someone inexperienced carried out my service they still proceeded to chargedouble the price of an independent garage. Not only that when I took my tyre in for replacement through the puncture insurance they refused me a courtesy car and it was £100 more than any other local garage meaning I still had to contribute on top of the insurance payout. I will never go back there again.

I go to the main dealer at the moment whilst still in warranty but have found in the past that a good independent specialist is far more knowledgeable about the cars and takes extra care. Have used Porsche and Alfa Romeo indi''s in the past. You are able to chat with the person who will work on your car and nothing is lost in translation between the service desk and the mechanic. I have built a good relationship with the indi's that I would never have with a dealer. You never know if your getting the spotty apprentice doing your oil change at a dealers.
I find with dealers that they always tell you that you need to change discs, pads, tyres etc way before you need to, to get the extra money out of you whereas the independent specialists will tell you honestly that you have 8k left on your pads or 3mm on your tyres. If I was going to an indi I would be exploring with them first if they have the capability to update the idrive and BMW history. Last edited by sensible; 10-30-2018 at 06:11 AM.. |
