Trying to understand your request. Are you trying to disable the amber sidermakers (which use the front turn signal bulbs)?

Right, arent they always ON by default? Or do you mean having them on as DRL?

I think he is asking to code them so they only are on when using the blinker, which is possible.

MAPPING_SIDEMARKER_L_OUTPUT set to off
and
MAPPING_SIDEMARKER_R_OUTPUT set to off

I believe he is trying to do just the opposite. In some countries the side marks are off by default.

No part needed, it's all in coding, done it myself. I used the cheat sheet from this thread: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ht=cheat+sheet to work our which values to change to reverse it:

Hi Daftasabrush

did you code this then?
FEM_BODY 3063 MAPPING_SIDEMARKER_L_OUTPUT off fra_v_l Turns off the left front side-marker. (The blinker is still active)
FEM_BODY 3063 MAPPING_SIDEMARKER_R_OUTPUT off fra_v_r Turns off the right front side-marker. (The blinker is still active)

greatz

I had to change the voltage of the bulbs too, mine had the voltages at zero and the sidemarkers off. Switching just the sidemarkers on won't do anything without them having a voltage.

Can you share the path to the voltage coding?

Thx

You guys are funny! We here in the US want to code the sidemarkers off so that it's more "Euro-like", while you guys are trying to enable the sidemarkers to make them more "American-like".

Sorry, I can't recall where it was, it was in the same area as where you turn them on, with similar wording to the voltage adjustments you can make for the angel eyes.

And you guys are wanting the Euro style rear light clusters while I'd quite like the US style red indicators (with orange LEDs behind).

I once had a Volvo 850 T-5R that where I swapped the white sidelights out for orange LEDs, loved the look so continued on the BM.

I still have the pair of US-Spec taillight housings with red turn signal lens that i swapped out for the Euro-spec ones with amber lens, if you're interested.

Is this definitely legal in the UK? I really wanted to try this out but one of my friends was stopped by the police early last year as apparently permanently lighting the front indicators like that isn't legal, even if they blink when activated via the stalk. Perhaps this was a one off? Tried looking around on forums and nobody else really appeared to have such issues... Was wondering if you've had any issues with it?

Brand new these retail for US$190 each. They were on my F31 for about 3500 miles before i swapped them out so they are in almost brand new condition. I will let them go for US$125 each.
