Really happy with prices Admiral have been quoting , especially with the additional MPPSK kit , spoilers , decals etc. plus my sons old Clio added to the policy which will save the F32 getting damaged by the hound and numerous trips to the dump as we are about to get involved with clearing an old house and renovating another. Another +1 for LV...
Mine's due for renewal at the start of November, so I've started getting quotes. Last year, no one could touch LV for mine (£349). They haven't sent my figure through for this time yet, but comparison sites have LV at £482 for me this year. Hastings won't even quote me, which I found strange. For the 1st time in years, I actually used a telephone & rung NFU Mutual (they don't do insurance online). I have to say, I was surprised. You have no options re breakdown, legal cover & guaranteed hire car - It comes as standard & can't be removed. But even so, including NCB protection, they've come in at just £400. Which I believe will be pretty much unbeatable by anyone else. Renewal just in from LV... It's actually gone down for my 2nd year with them! £329, winner!

Admiral quoted me £768 and I have just paid £231 with QMH with an Excess of just £80. Sussex, mid 50s no points or accidents, garaged, wife and me, 12,000/yr. LV was similar but higher XS. Start with Martin Lewis's website below. He details all the comparison sites then the ones who don't participate. Also he has a few ideas about how to legally fool the system. FYI Confused.com owns Admiral, Diamond, Elephant and Bell. Monopoly?? https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/car-insurance/ |

So you're paying less than me for a more powerful rear wheel drive car with 0 no claims discount as opposed to my 14 years. Oh yes that really makes sense...

Some arse in a X3 reversed into my car park outside the gym. His towing bollard destroyed my rear bumper. A nice chap parked up in his car saw the whole incident and jumped out with his 'phone and photographed the arse in his pretend Range Rover and his numberplate as he sped off. Despite all the evident, it took Admiral 18 months to admit liability and pay up (just before they were due to appear in Court). Privilege authorised repair on the day and were wholly helpful for the whole incident. |

You're lucky OP! I had to pay more than a cool thousand for my first and second (current) year. New UK license is the main culprit. And it was cheaper switching than staying with the same provider by about 400gbp.
Robbery is the fact that I've had multiple licenses for over 15 years from multiple countries that have much more difficult driving conditions than Scotland. But in the end the pricing algorithms chalk me up as a novice driver with not so much as a parking notice in 2 years. Suffice to say that I won't be getting my dream M3 any time soon..

Mileage, post code, age, occupation...too many variables. I'm paying £200 for a new 340i which means nothing other than makes me feel good. I reckon the biggest variable is that I've retired young and the car is social only, oh yeah and its a nice post code and I do naff all mileage. |

For many years I've use a-plan: 01635 874646
They're effectively a broker and can do some shopping around for you. For me, they consistently seem to better and cheaper than confused, Admiral, LV etc. So worth the price of a phone call. That said, the wife tried them and they were way more than her current renewal! |

I'd recommend using the insurance aggregator sites like confused/comparethemarket.
Aviva have been decent, you could try out the Aviva drive app that monitors your driving for a couple of miles (can't remember the exact one) and then based on your driving they give you a discount. That's worth a try. |

I'll be running quotes through all the comparison sites along with the likes of Aviva etc soon on the 21 day before renewal sweet spot. Just had my renewal come through from Esure up from £320 last year to £383, .. they'll have to do better than that if they want me to stay with them. Apparently car insurance is supposed to be almost 10% lower than it was a year ago.

I'm with LV, around £400 for my F31 with from memory a £250 excess.
I could probably have got a slightly lower premium but LV consistently get good reviews for their claims handling and, while I hope to never have to make one, I'm prepared to pay a bit more to a company who will (hopefully) be of some use should I ever need them! |

Another one for LV, I used all the comparison sites but when I clicked through those with the best prices missed out a few things I wanted and where higher when I reduced the excess and added the protected NCB that I wanted.
I also noted that many only had the legal minimum cover for you when you where driving abroad so only 3rd party on the continent. LV gives the same level of cover as you have in the UK which swung it for me and made it worth paying the extra £20 or so they cost over the other quotes. |
