Voluntary £250. But the vehicle-specific excess is £500 for a collision claim...

Try paying £1300 P/A for a 420i M Sport and having a black box monitoring your speed limiting you to 8000 miles PA.
With advanced driver accreditation as well. Hate insurance companies. |

Thanks for all the replies guys......
So direct line bumped my premium to over £800 PA so went to all the places suggested by you good folk including comparison sites. From the recommendations on here I looked at LV and put it in as a standard car, came out at £517 (3points me & wife one accident 50/50). However looking at the Trustpilot reviews was amazed how badly LV came out, I know you can't please all the people all the time, so I tried to call them to discuss the mods on the car and get a true cost..... phone rang and rang and rang on more than one occasion, so I decided to look elsewhere. I used to insure my Subarus with A-Plan at Thatcham so gave them a call. Phone was answered immediately taken through the quote, listed all the mods.... M performance body kit inc (roof spoiler, not fitted but in case I wanted to) plus spacers & Steinbauer tuning box winter wheels / tyres. Quote all in came to £461 with protected bonus, Europe travel, legal cover, car hire & £300 XS, business use. Seemed good to me so done deal as they say. If anyone is interested I spoke to Michael Goodman... https://www.aplan.co.uk/personal/mot...cle-insurance/ |

To be fair, the first year was north of £2200 with a 1 year NCD so I'm hoping by the time my renewal comes with a 3 year NCD, I may finally be into 3 figures for insurance.
Still no sign of the black box going though, Armed robbery might just help me save for my renewal. |

That's correct. Which I'd obviously get back on a non-fault claim...

So after having paid over £800 in June I thought I'd just do another search now to see what it's coming out at...
£525! So I'll be setting up my new policy and cancelling my old one, even losing out on a months premium for cancelling I'll be over £200 better off. Madness. |

No-one is comparing like for like. I think we all understand what can impact the price and that postcode probably has the biggest impact of all however it is still interesting to see the differences.

Just 'haggled' with Admiral over the phone and got our Multi-car policy (3 car) down from £725 to £670! Not bad for 440i, E36 M3 & Peugeot 208. They also refunded us £25/car this year due to covid!!!

Hadn't seen your post before I made the above comment. It's exactly what I've just done. Can't believe it. I'm at just less than £600 for all 3. Bonkers.
