Chemical Guys Hydroslick Hydrocharge experience

Just spent more money than I'd care to admit on cleaning chemicals and equipment. I'd like to top it off with a ceramic but not sure what to go with. Anyone with experience with Hydroslick vs Hydrocharge?

I also have this random Korean coating I bought awhile back which I might try out Fantastic xML

Second thought, this Adam's Graphene coating seems like where it's at

The concentrated ceramic coat is the way to go for long-lasting full protection.
The wet-coat sprays are good for fast coating and maintenance wash.

But are you just washing/cleaning? Then I'd say go with the wet-coat spray.
The ceramic coat is best applied on a fleshly washed AND polished car.
If it's not totally clean, you will trap the dirt/scratches under the coat.

Just be careful to get all the excessive residue off, it will do more damage than good.

Thanks for the tip! I think I'm going to go for the real deal.

Picked up a clay bar kit and a polishing kit from these chemical folks.

I'm no detail expert but outside of their microfibers and drying towels, I haven't found a single chemical guys product I would recommend, and I've tried many.

Chemical Guys is a very disputed brand. Popular in the states, infamous in most of Europe. In Germany it is considered low quality brand with high quality marketing, low value for money.

I personally DO like Chemical Guys. The only CG product I wouldn't buy again or recommend is their "Microfiber WASH". I simply wasn't impressed, I found it mediocre.

This said, I think spray-on waxes or ceramic coatings (they aren't ceramic anyway) from any brand are a joke.... They create a hydrophobic layer for a couple of days to please the eye and that's it. Use proper wax, sealant or ceramic coating. They take longer to apply, but last for months and actually give a level of protection through a more robust physical layer.

Have you you used their VSS polish? I bought it already but I'm thinking it might be overkill since my paint is in pretty good shape. Maybe just a fine polish will do

No, never used any polishing compounds from CG.
Only Meguiars and Menzerna.

Always start with the least aggressive and if needed step up to a more aggressive one.

Vss is fine… the more agressive stuff is the vs34 etc.

I used the vss on the interior wood.

I use it for my “suede” Janoski skate shoes. For that purpose it works great.

Hey guys so now that I'm inspecting the paint closer, main problem seems to be very small paint chips. I was looking on Reddit detailing and people were talking about dr colorchip?? Anyone with experience? If so what kit did you buy?

Buy a kit from your local bmw dealership. They can order one for you with your specific paint colour code or may even have on stock if one of the more common paints.

Good tip Except if you are mineral grey. The factory touch up kit for mineral grey is known to not match

So gotta say I was impressed with the Chemical Guys VSS polish. It got some scratches out that I thought were a long shot.

As for their window cleaner, it sucks. Nothing beats Sprayway IMO.

Which one did you try?
Spray way streaks for me.

I just used hydro view on my house windows again. Only have to use it every 3-6 months and they stay clean.

It works for me, but you have to be light with it, not heavy like windex

Yeah, I was trying to get enough product on to wipe out water spots but not too much. It reminded me of eyeglass cleaner.

Might try Stoner invisible glass next time, I've heard good things.

Water + vinegar is all you need for any water spots. Thereafter classic window cleaner from the supermarket. Not rocket science really…
