M240i vs 340i MPE mufflers

I was browsing for the M Performance axle-back muffler and noticed various sites list both #18302424608 and #18302406953 as compatible with both the F-series 240i and 340i.

Further research indicates 18302424608 is for the 240i and 18302406953 for the 340i.

It appears the only difference is the length of the exit pipes, can anyone confirm? Are the hangers and connection to the mid-pipe exactly the same? If so, the 2-series unit is significantly cheaper and would work since I would be adding my own tips.

I attempted to fit one on my F36 440i. Hanger position didn’t line up and wouldn’t fully slide on the mid pipe as the silencer hits the heat shield section.

bump, anybody else tried this? This post by Athomas says it's a direct fit (on an F31).
