2013 335i N55 Spark Plug Change

Yes, I know I could do this cheaper myself, but:

Would you guys and gals say that $400 for a spark plug change on a 335i is a reasonable quote in Los Angeles? $150 for the all 6x plugs (plus $10 tax) and $250 for labor? Thanks!

That's probably "reasonable" for the LA area. Are they charging 2 hrs of labor at $125 p/hr?

Yep, that's the labor rate they're charging which seems right for an Indy shop. Found The M Shop in North L.A. which quoted me significantly cheaper so I'll be going to them.

Well, when I changed my plugs two months ago I paid $60 for stock Bosch plugs. Won't even go into how easy this job is...but a more than double mark up...just money in the waste can.

Changing spark plugs is super easy with a spark plug wrench. 10 minute job maybe 20 to do all 6. You simply remove engine cover, unplug coil and remove/install plug. No different than my other vehicle. The rear cylinders might be a little harder to reach maybe but nothing too difficult. Just watch you tube videos.

I agree it's nothing to difficult but 10 minutes??

Here's my DIY, should give you a good idea of what's involved.

Just finished doing this myself and if you have the right tools, which I purchased, it's not so bad. The lowest quote I got here, was $150cdn, that's like $10usd, lol. You guys are getting raped in LA, damnnnn...

Depends on how confident you are with your skill set.

Some potential pitfalls/issues:

Stuck plug snaps off when you attempt to unscrew it.
Cross threading new plug.
Overtightening new plug.
You see oil on the plugs/coils which indicates a valve cover gasket leak that now must be replaced.

Things European are expensive in the shakey isles, but I was pleasantly surprised my spark plug service at the dealership *only* cost me around NZD450. The plugs were about $50 each but it took the technician just over an hour to do the job. I figure it'll cost me that much just to get the parts and right tools, so I'll gladly pay $150 for someone more qualified than me for the time.
