But seriously, if there is one thing I hate about BMW, is how they cheap out on things that shouldn't be cheaped out on.

Coolant overflow hose (This was changed a couple weeks ago.)

Thermostat to cylinder head, nicknamed "Mickey mouse flange." (Just changed it today to the aluminum flange.)

For those that replaced the "mickey mouse fitting" did any coolant come out when replacing this piece?

Coolant will definitely come out when you remove the mickey mouse flange. You could prolly get away only draining half of the coolant if you wanted but your better off doing a coolant flush at the same time. It's only going to add like an extra 30 mins of work total

I'm highly debating doing my entire cooling system at this point
It's got 68k on the clock, new water pump, aux pump (msport) and all hoses and thermostat
I got the Mickey Mouse flange and the overflow hose
May just bite the bullet and have that out of the way, likely keep the radiator for now

Does anyone know of a DIY or video on how to replace that flange?

I bought the ECS replacement flange that also comes with a replacement hose. Can I replace the hose without draining the coolant? Or will I lose a ton of coolant doing that?
