Confused on new tires (staggered f31)
I have a 2015 328d M-sport wagon. It came with the staggered m-sport 18" m400 wheels. I Currently have the stock Pirelli P7 runflats, but I HATE these tires. They are soo stiff, they make the road feel terrible always. Potholes feel like my cars is exploding. On tope of that, they are very fragile! Every single one gets taken out by a sidewall bubble caused by hitting a pothole. But you all probably know how runflats feel. So all my tires have like 5000 miles on them and I just noticed another huge sidewall bubble on the inside of the front tire. So rather than just replacing one again and being stuck in an endless loop of Pirelli P7.... I just want to buy new regular Michelins. I want the Pilot Sport All Season 4s. I'm debating going with a square tire setup but I don't want to get new rims. (Also if anyone wants stock P7 runflats hit me up!)
I have done some reading on here, and I see people recommend the 235/45r18. But can I just buy all 4 of the same size tires and install them on my staggered rims? Or do I definitely have to buy different size tires for the front and rear? |

you can run square 235/45/18 on the OEM staggered 18" rims, however you will not be able to rotate front<--->back. only across the same axle.

Not sure the width of your rear wheels but the advantage of a square setup is you can rotate all wheels without issue and prolong the life of tires. Having staggered wheels prevents you from doing this. So no real advantage to a square setup. Just make sure you use a tire calculator to ensure the tires front vs. rear are within 1% of eachother to prevent issues w xdrive.

Thanks! I think it was some of your previous posts I was reading. Would you recommend going with 235's all around or should I just keep the staggered OEM tire size but ditch the runflats. My car is just a stock Drive wagon, stock ride height etc. Mainly I would like some improved ride quality.

right now Costco has michelins with discount. they may approve non-runflats if you say you'll have a contingency plan, such as plug/kit+air inflator+etc. |

I'm with aloha, stay with the stock staggered sizes of 225/45/18+255/40/18 since you have staggered wheels. If comfort is a priority, look at the Continental DWS 06+ instead of Michelin.
